The first production Ford Model T was built in 1908 in Detroit, Michigan. The Model T had a 2.9 liter four-cylinder engine that produced 20 horsepower (HP) and had a top speed of 45 mph. It cost $850.
That’s about $17,000 in 2007 inflation-adjusted dollars, which is about the same price of a new fully loaded 4-cylinder 2.0 liter Ford Focus. However, the Focus produces 150 HP, or about 7.5 times more power than the Model T.
My 2010 Ford Focus cost 14,000 dollars Plus TT&L.
A 2015 Elio with a .88 liter 3 cylinder cost $6800.00
Now thats a deal.
