You just feel like most Mitsubishi stuff is just crap.

3.0 L v6 supplied to Chrysler in the 90's for Dynasty and Caravan...crap. Why ? cause the valve seats were defective.

Mitsubishi Colts ? Crap ... why ? cause they were underpowered rust buckets that corroded quickly.

Lancer ... crap.

Outlander ... crap.

Look they make decent construction equipment and electronics...but their auto division mailed it in a long time ago.

and I blame the engineers and corporate hierarchy yet again for sceewing Joe worker.

Ill have this lancer

it has been pointed out many times that any automotive or motorcycle manufacture could produce an Elio type trike .... the most commonly held reason for them not being willing to do so is they can't and make sufficient profit to fit their business plan with their corporate and marketing structure .... EM his addressing this at every level along the way in both manufacturing and sales
Build it in China or India. !! we all know that when, not if (fill in your choice-toyota, GM, Ford, honda) decide to build to export it will happen, and there will be 7k CARS !! and they will be making a larger market share and profit.

So you're saying Illinois workers don't want to work for minimum wage so business owners can be multi millionaires, is that correct?
No, I believe he is saying Illinois has sent more governors to federal prison than any other State in the Union - evidence of the corrupt environment from top to bottom. That, and the fact that Illinois is one of the closest States to bankruptcy, if States weren't prevented by federal statute from filing bankruptcy. The only other fix is to cut services and raise taxes.

As for business owners being multi-millionaires, Elio is on the path to becoming a publicly traded company, meaning the "business owners" are everyone who owns stock, whether directly or through mutual funds, pension funds, annuities (the annuities' insurers invest in the market), and on, and on - IOW, Joe Everyman is a "business owner" who wants and needs profits. Profits let you retire earlier - you should be cheerleading for more...

Mitsubishi is industrial, world-spanning giant.

A company as talented and deep as Mitsubishi could whip an Elio in no time.

Why don't they?
Elio has developed an industry-disrupting business model that would be difficult, if not downright impossible, for the big automakers to replicate:
- Direct sales (yes, existing automakers could try, but would likely face open revolt from their franchisees)
- Direct sales (incredibly low overhead not having to manage a franchise network)
- Direct sales - seeing a pattern? (eliminates another layer of profit - the franchisee)
- Direct sales (incredibly lean inventory & supply chain requirements)
- Outsourced maintenance (reduced management costs for hiring/training/retention)
- New startup (no legacy of underfunded pension liabilities)
- Team design concept (suppliers supporting engineering)
- Team design concept (no existing staff of thousands - no exaggeration)
- Team design concept (Elio is doing this with a team of ~25 - a big automaker would have more just doing HR for the project!)
- and on, and on, and on.....

A big player might try through a skunk works operation, but it would be the rare big player whose execs (with all of their big player mentality) could keep their hands off, or whose franchisees wouldn't still openly revolt - essentially mucking it all up, again.
