Production Plan. Our Vice President of Manufacturing and Product Launches, Gino Raffin, and our consultant for project
management of Shreveport operations have developed the production plan and facility layout. The facility layout has been developed to
utilize the existing infrastructure and flexible design of the buildings at the Shreveport facility. A detailed 47-week launch plan has been
developed, which includes 24 weeks of pre-production activities, 10 weeks of manufacturing validation and training, and 12 weeks7 of
increased production to reach optimal production output. Incorporated into the launch is the plan that the first 125 vehicles produced
will not be sold, but utilized for internal purposes.

So really EM would not need to begin this plan till January.

It became clear to me some time back the earliest we might see a production line rolling out ELIO's would be 2017. I hope I am wrong but ELIO is stalled and needs a major jump start.

The P5 Milestone completed.
The P5 is the easy part. 4 guys with a garage can build one in a weekend in todays world. ELIO has a lot of work to do. Notice they have said little about who will build the engine. Not an off the shelf part the ramp up for anyone one to build it is going to take time and cash.

They had said Q4 over a month ago, so this is not something new.
It's another media service that is late to the party, which is nothing new for KSLA; they have been "off" on their reporting of Elio since the beginning.
That's also not the current sign in front of the plant; Willie W posted it in a different thread in here.
So don't get too hung up on this story.

For nearly everyone, perception and reality are two different concepts. And, I know that "forum days" are much longer than normal days. I will read something in this forum, and it "feels" like 2-3 weeks have past. I'll look at the date of the post, and it might be 3 days ago.

This news of Q4 2016 was stated in Paul's email dated Aug 28. That's exactly one week ago. As I said, it "feels" to me like 3-4 weeks ago.

Those of us that frequent the forum can give some latitude to others that don't frequent the forum and post a news item. I certainly didn't see Chordsman as getting hung up on this story, he's just posting it for all to see. I appreciate him sharing the link.

So what you are saying is, in forum time, I've been waiting for my Elio for 37 years now!

to build the jig and then the frame in a short time is certainly within reason and pictures have been released of it .... getting suppliers to produce brand specific parts would have to take longer and some pictures have been released in that area .... the existing engine proves IAV has or has access to the molds and equipment needed to produce it .... my hunch is, they will be the one doing so .... at this stage only a few motors are needed, as has been released, the crash test vehicles won't have one .... EM rightly doesn't release every detail because history has proven that skeptics and haters alike will take whatever info is released and twist it meet their agenda .... one day the P5 will appear and doubters will move on to the world coming to an end because some stage down the road hasn't been met and no info has been released about it

Please send EM the phone number for 4 Guys Prototype Builder's so they can get it built and tested, because it is the next step to production.

It was actually "announced" in the fine print of the SEC application. But you had to look for it. As I posted elsewhere, it's annoying for EM to announce clearly and publicly that "still Mid-2016, nothing's changed" when they knew damn well that they were going to slip the date again, because one week after this pronouncement, there's the SEC app. Grrr. Anybody who can even do basic math knew they could not possibly make the current production date with the current state of funding and having just gotten rolling on the E-series. Nobody likes admitting publicly that they have screwed up or aren't performing as planned, but EM then has egg all over their faces when they DO admit the obvious. Double grrrr.
