FWIW - Red, Left, Port all have fewer letters than the corresponding Green, Right, Starboard. There are a few other nautical mnemonics related to this.

FWIW, vehicles' "right" and "left" sides are based on the normal driving direction of the vehicle. It is irrelevant whether the vehicle is a single-seater, or a tandem-seater. The meanings of right and left do not change based on where the driver or passengers sit, nor based on where the observer is located.

Maybe that confusion is why the terms port and starboard came into use.

Port and starboard were terms coined to deal with exactly this confusion. They would be useful here!

FWIW, one of the earlier photos -- much earlier -- showed a second P-5 / E space frame in the background. So I would not be surprised to see E-1 appearing very, very soon.

"Red right returning" is very handy -- except on inland waterways where, for reasons known only to God and the Coast Guard, it's reversed! (Red right returning means the on your way back from the sea, a red buoy marks the starboard (right) edge of the channel, green the left hand border).

I just finished booking my travel to Los Angeles which will put in the convention center on Monday, November 23.

I managed to arrange for a business trip to LA which just so happens to coincide with the LA Auto Show.

I will be arriving on the afternoon of November 22. If anyone is in the area and would like to meet up for dinner on the 22nd or anytime on the 23rd just let me know.
