Lions VS Cowboys .... it depends on which Dallas team shows up .... if the one that has played most recently, Dallas should live to pay another day

well, unfortunately for Cowboy's fans, it appears that their defense hasn't shown up for the first half .... I mean really, ruff the Lions punter when he's standing in his own end zone and then allow a 99+ yard drive

Really a crappy failure to call pass interference against Dallas that would have given Detroit a first down. The excuse was its a officiating crew that hadn't worked together before. The playoffs are not the time for referee on the job training.

I hear ya Jim, but I think the media can put spins on things. It wasn't a problem that the refs hadn't worked together before. They are the best refs, and they all have headsets and can talk sooner than being face-to-face. The problem is the rules and the speed of the players. Players are SO fast now, and defenders can run with receivers like it's nothing. For the rules, >>IF<< the receiver (in this case a tight end) is moving away from the ball and >>IF<< there is incidental contact and >>IF<< the defender doesn't turn to see the ball and >>IF<< the receiver reaches for the ball and >>IF<< the defender doesn't physically impede the receiver and >>IF<< the receiver comes back for the ball.... SHEESH!! How is a ref supposed to make a call at real-time?

On that particular play, there were all kinds of hand-fighting and contact between the two as they were running down the field, right up until the ball arrived. A former ref of 20+ yrs said this morning that he wouldn't have thrown a flag on the play, but since the refs DID throw a flag, they should not have picked it up. LOL, there were all kinds of situations during the NFL season where a flag is thrown and then the refs pick it up, and it was the right thing to do, the refs got together, discussed it, no foul, they waved it off. But in THIS CASE, this ref of 20+ yrs says that they should not have waved it off if they were going to throw it.

 Good lord...

So, if you're a Detroit fan, you feel like you got screwed. If you're a Dallas fan, you are thankful they waved it off. :)

Much like the no call on the roughing the kicker that Detriot didn't get called on. I don't think the officials are malicious in any sense of the word but they do try to make the best call they can.
When Detroit missed the game winning field goal with less than 5 seconds remaining in London, the game should have been over... an offensive penalty backed them up 5 yards and let them re-kick and make it to win the game. I was under the impression that there should have been a 10 second run-off. That game helped get Detroit IN and Atlanta OUT. But, that's the game. Now, I'm stuck rooting for Carolina just to stick it to all the people who keep saying the NFC South is horrible and shouldn't even get a slot. Seriously? Every division has a bad season every now and then...

Ravens VS Patriots

Panthers VS Seahawks

the Ravens are tough, I believe the Patriots are tougher, + its at Foxborough .... after this past weekend I believe Big Ben's career is on the down slope, don't believe Brady has reached that point so I'm taking the Pats but by less than a TD

both the Panthers and Seahawks have a OB with ties to our part of the country .... the Panthers are happy to get this far, the Seahawks deserve to go further .... I'm taking the 'hawks but believe the Panther's defense will give them a pounding

I'm biased, but I think it was a good no call. There was a little bumping on both sides. The Detroit player had a grasp on the Dallas players facemask. Most of the contact came after the ball hit the Dallas players head, which would nulify the interference. It's one of those calls that is going to piss off the fans of whichever team it doesn't benefit. The real problem is the way the refs handled it. I have never seen a call reversed after it has been announced over the PA.

Yeah. They are usually pretty good about conferring before making the call. They erred in making an anouncement before getting all the info.
