I like the looks of this one! between the roof top carrier, and the dual saddle bags (or whatever they call the hard ones), my wife might actually have enough room to pack for an overnighter somewhere. :D

Gator, I'm not sure about the wife getting enough for an overnighter in those pods, but I sure like 'em! When not carrying cargo, you could install a couple of solid propellant rocket boosters, for those moments when you just need a little extra power.

over the years I've used frames like the one show in the link to build trailers that have literally been used on 2,000 - 3,000 mile trips .... the weakness I've seen most often comes when the spring hanger comes loose from the frame .... I've literally seen the metal rip like construction paper .... that is an area where you can't cut strength .... I've seen jet ski trailers with 8" wheels that seem to do well but I don't like 8" wheels for distance towing .... on the trailers I have built I don't like to go below 12" and prefer 13"/14" wheels .... if I was to build a trailer to haul behind an Elio I'd use tires the same as the ones on the Elio .... I'd design the trailer to mount a spare tire that could be used on either the trailer or the Elio .... but then that's just me

Pity I can't build like you. And now I wont be happy with any thing less than you recommend. Thanks.

Seems that I recall a backpack roll type container strapped to the back of certain antique models. But then for $300 I'm kinda liking this;

Mine is that shape and approximate size but not a hard container. It also has a pull out handle. I would probably need to attach it to some kind of larger wheel apparatus to work but I have a year to figure stuff like that out. Thanks for the information. $300 is a lot cheaper than $3,000 for the Mini Mate pop up tent/trailer . I might even be able to afford a tent and elevated air mattress instead. LOL :-) Z

kind words appreciated .... building light and building strong are usually opposites and its easy to cut so much weight that you lose strength

Jim
In 93 I held the record for the lightest fully functioning RC Electric model Airplane east to the Mississippi. Guy at Boeing had me beat. Scratch built At 8.7 ounces I had ailerons, elevator, full on/off throttle control. It even flew inside a gym. I could tap the wing as it flew by. I digress. LOL
