Driving down the road today, I realized my rear view mirrors were both aimed at the lane beside me (for changing lanes) and I use the rear view to see trafic behind me.
The Elio is so narrow that if the mirrors are adjusted the same, I wouldn't see anything behind me, so I will be ordering a rear view camera but nothing else unless the MC type fenders option are cheaper than I can make them. We will see. GB

Unless there's going to be a SAW in an automated turret for the back seater to operate, I suspect I'll go 100% stock. If that turret is an option though... Yum!
Does anybody know the full story on what is being offered not on the basic model besides auto tranny ,pop out rear windows and cruise control. If there is already a thred for this question please enlighten me :)

Yup, bare bones for me too. I will have the windows tinted as soon as I get it home. And since a trailer hitch wont be available in the first year, I will fabricate my own. I want to make a trailer, too. I'll definitely personalize it. Thinking seriously about two-tone paint with 50's style side moldings and "Old school" pinstripes. Gotta have an air horn, too. :)

If the mirrors are adjusted properly you can see a person or object direcly centered behind the vehicle......because it's so narrow.

Pretty much bare bones for me. A trailer hitch is a must. Open rear windows possibly. Maybe a cherry bomb muffler!:p PING, PING, PING. I would also consider a V plow for the front to blow the possums, skunks, coons , deer, and armadillos out of the way.
I'm pretty much basic Marshmellow but would like to see your idea of a cow catcher.

Let have contest for the best hood ornament for the Elio . I win !!!! see attached.

Not according to the SAE recommendations, but those are relying on having a rear view mirror.
If you aim the mirrors so that you can see a person directly behind the vehicle, your blind spots will be huge.

My only reference is this photo from a guy who sat in the Elio and adjusted the mirrors accordingly. Looks right to me, but I will have to verify with personal experience.

The guy waving is standing dead center behind the Elio. If you aim the mirrors correctly to view normal traffic.............I think you would see the guy simply because the Elio is so narrow.
