Better mpg, better front end, better passenger seating and a trunk...there are dozens of better designs out there, I wonder why Mr. Elio picked the one he did...did he miss the ale' watch their video..maybe that is why nobody will fund EM. 3 wheel concept cars .com ..enjoy!

I did. Guess I missed the Netherlands part. I guess better is very objective. I find the stagered seating to be a horrible configuration. I also much prefer the Elio front end.

I believe a few details need to be pointed out as some people are drawing conclusions about the timeline and number of reservations without the correct facts. While Paul Elio has been working on this idea since 2008 Elio Motors did not accept reservations until the very beginning of 2013 so all the reservations in place now have not happened over the last six years but instead only about a year and a half now. Also the nice automated online reservation system most of us used for our reservations only dates back eight months or so to October 2013 when the nice shiny website came online followed by the Elio blog and accompanied by a more active presence on the Facebook page. Due to these facts until the fall of 2013 it was much more difficult to learn about and stay in touch with what Elio Motors was doing and interested persons had to either see the Elio prototype and make a reservation in person or reach out to Elio Motors via phone or email to make a reservation which people are much less likely to do.

All this basically means that Elio Motors has only stepped up and been really serious about marketing this vehicle to the public since late last year yet in that time they have already managed to go from about 1500 reservations in early October 2013 to over 18,000 just eight months later in early June 2014.

When you asked me for a survival plan, get this through your head one last time; the only plan is that it sells whatever real IP it has to a large established suitor, there is no viable alternative, the numbers don't even nearly add up, and won't.

EM is counting on volume reservations as THE major data point to convince either stage 1 funding, or a suitor to pony up big money to buy their design. The proof EM is going NOWHERE is; NO major funding in 6 years. Private equity wants results and measureable data points that can backup demand level that would make EM profitable, and they snub fantasy stories such as EM.

They should already have 100K+ reservations at this point, but they don't even have a quarter of that, after 6 years. They need major volume to make any money, it's obviously clear there isn't a fraction of demand they would need. Funds don't arrive unless private equity foresee a profit happening, not just an ROI.

That's how business works Jetpack, read this post a few times until that sinks in, or please seek out a tutor in your trailer park to try and explain it to you.

We all know that the reservation monies are not enough, I think a 10 year old will get that. Forget about the reservations....we're asking you how did you get your info. that they don't have funding right now let alone the 200 mil.??? Hello Goofyone! I while I DO strongly believe in our freedom of speech, I wish that there were something that you and the rest of the moderators could, or would do, to step in and permanently ban some of these " bad apples" when they surface on the forum. We are all a serious, but fun loving folk on here and we certainly don't need to have these liberal, naysayers, in our face. Lord knows it's bad enough to have the kind of people in the federal government that we have today, ALWAYS trying to tell us what to say, and how to say it. . . . . . .

Maybe we really need to start a campaign on this forum, to have ALL OF US, simply block those folks. Dump them guys, EVERY TIME one of them pops up amongst us!

Whattheelf, nice to see there are other "thinking" people out there. The elioites have listened to paul the pipers flute for way to long.
The real reason for the reservations is to get to the "trigger" which brings the heavy hitters in. Like this...Paul, you get 40,000 people giving EM deposits, and I will give you say $100,000,000. Very standard in the business world. Unfortunately Mr. Elio did not estimate the deposits would take this long, only 25,000 in a year and a half. Everybody likes the elio, and might put a $100 on it, but it is going to take a while to get to 40,000, hummm forty thousand, hummm isn't that the exact number EM will close the reservations..It might take as long as 14 months...LMAO! It was never about the amount of the money!

EM marches on! I'm telling you, they're moving on so you should COME ALONG young fella! Follow it up to the end and then make you assessment because right now, you're talking out of your a.. ! I like the entertainment value you and your cousin whatthe elf brings though...it's really funny stuff. Bring it on some more!

Music man, you just proved many peoples point, you can't believe some else has a different opinion than yours.
Just how are you going to explain the 7 years of failure and the lack of investors to what you believe is the greatest vehicle since barney rubbles scoot. There are several others that just would love your undeniable lust for anything Paul Elio does. I thank Goofyone for accepting not only me but several others and if you do check out face book lately, a lot of negativity is showing up. I always have some fact along with my opinions. Better sit down and read the 2010 paul elio presentation to the city of Pontiac, read slow, make notes and then we will talk.
