So does this Infinite Skyz system with EM include some sort of an IPAD-like display panel imbedded in the dash replacing the Elgin dash hardware? Please excuse me if this is explained elsewhere but I didn't get a feel for that from the Skyz website or the EM announcements about the option.

I am not a huge fan of the Elgin dash design (at least to this point without seeing it in person) but I know I don't want some external IPad or I-phone suctioned-cupped to the windshield running the EM app.

If you listen to this broadcast, maybe it will help.

As I understand it, the Infinite Skyz system will be a supplement to the dash you choose.

Here is a quote I picked up off Future Elio Owners of America's Facebook page--Apple vs Android. (I have neither.)

"Skyz has just replied to the question regarding the choice of Apple products. Here is their response: Regarding Infinite Skyz's selection of Apple products for the Elio, the security of the SkyzMatic system is a serious consideration. The Apple iOS encryption module is FIPS certified, while the open platform Androids will never have FIPS certified encryption modules. Infinite Skyz can harness the iOS encryption module in the Elio apps for the iPad mini, iPhone, and Apple watch such that the SkyzMatic system, the drivers' data, and recorded videos cannot be hacked or accessed by the government. The encrypted Elio apps are just another option available for Elio owners."

Thanks Z and Jambe. I listened to the Drivers Talk Radio and the Skyz rep said there will be an "IPOD mini attached to the dash", somehow. Guess it's a wait and see.

Ya think so?
Boy, I'd hate to pay that kind of money and not have this thing completely integrated into the car. I can't see paying that kind of money regardless, but I would hope that they have a better solution than a suction cup to the windshield. I bet they do.

a suction cup would probably not be the only option ... I've seen pictures of some sort of a smart phone holder mounted on the dash of an Elio to the right side of the steering wheel .... what I was referring to is the image will be on something like a I-pad and not replacing the Elgin dash

Are you positive it will be a suction cup rather than screwed on...does seem to require an i pad with cell tech to work. Cool for those that want that.

negative, see post 25 .... I still use a Razar Flip Phone so I don't have a pony in this race .... :)
