I suspect the money has been squandered. By that I meant spent on the business but not effectively. It's not free to host a website and keep a staff, even a tiny staff. Someone is still responding to emails and sending out the recycled newsletter. I doubt Paul has a piggy bank of any real proportion. He should still have the refundable deposits as they are supposed the be locked for legal reasons but he probably couldn't get into it.

My attitude was and is, just cut back one trip to Las Vegas and the $1000 loss doesn’t sound so bad. I also have a deposit on an Arcimoto. They are building some vehicles and at this point I’d rather have the Arcimoto.

Paul and Hari would, no doubt, be very happy if everyone thought as you do!! The people with ‘spots in line’ for 1000 bucks are of course limited to just that 1 grand in losses ( a few did go for more than one vehicle tho!) but what about the stock price going to 75 bucks? All that IPO money, ‘misspent’? 20 million to ESG Engineering? This could be a lot bigger than ‘poor business decisions.’ Simple questions still perplex me: one is how can commissioning and designing your own engine be ‘KISS’? And where did all the money go?

My antenna went up, way in the early days, when EM was selling St. Patty’s Day T shirts that merely referred to Elio Motors for 25 bucks! They weren’t really serious about visibility and promotion from year one. I remember a video of Paul from his office where he was practically surrounded by Tee Shirts...maybe they were making money on them!!

this is not the first time investors have gotten burned on a great automotive idea that too many greedy people got involved with. a receipt for financial disaster. looking back on this failure to deliver, it's not the money, it's the dishonesty by capable people to ruin a movement that could have changed the transportation future for this and maybe other countries around the world. i've seen this type of scam in the aircraft industry also. someone brings out a great design and then the marketing push collects production capital with deposits from enthusiastic potential buyers but the individuals running the newly formed company are not involved in actually making anything and have no sense of fiscal responsibility or business acumen to bring a craft to production. got to give paul and his "cohorts in crime" credit for keeping the ruse going for as long as they have. would love to see a detailed audit going back to the beginning, as to where the money was spent. also, i admire the dedication of the original elio addict's to hang in for as long as they have. it almost seems to be a symbiotic relationship. it's just sad!

In two years, the reason for me getting an Elio in the first place will be moot. My roundtrip to work and back is exactly 84 miles [actually, 84.4 depending on where in the parking lot I park]. I'll still take it, assuming they get built, and give it to my son since he also works here at Boeing, and has about a 92 mile roundtrip drive. If they'd been in production when I 'assumed' they would be, I'd be on my second one by now.
