This is just a gripe comment. The person just want's to vent but the reality is this. If 2 weeks from now, Elio announces funding and deliveries start in 2019, this person will be back and excited. If they are speaking the truth then when the first Elio is delivered, I will buy a $1K, $7K locked in reservation for $100. Since these people are done with it, their reservation is worthless right now and I'll give you $100 more than $0.
Even with the funding, they cannot roll off a E this year.
Why, if they do start production,, would anyone sell (for $100.00) a $1,000 deposit towards a real E??

Because you buy a reservation with a locked in price of $7K, then there's an additional $500 off along with the $1000 you paid. In the end, it comes down to a $5500 Elio out of pocket. All I get is a back of the line SIL but that $5500 Elio costs me $5600 because I pay you $100. I can live with the back of the line SIL.

The reason why I offer this is because people come here and claim they are done with Elio. That makes me happy because they say they are and thus will never buy an Elio no matter what. On the other hand, they might be using idle threats and think that posting here will make the Elio happen, then they will have an about face and be really happy that their Elio is coming and they knew all along that it would happen. So far, calling people out on this has resulted in not one person taking me up on the deal. That tells me they are just joking about it because they are willing to wait as long as it takes to get what they desire.

If i have to be SIL 100K but get it for $5600, I'm fine with that. I don;t need to be the first in line. Plus I got the advantage because all of you will give me 100 ideas of what I can do to my Elio because you'll have had then for about 2 years.

The real question then is will Elio Motors honor their agreement if the spot-in-line is sold to someone else? Not sure they would or even if they would be legally required to do so. Now if the original SIL person agrees to sell you the Elio at the SIL agreed price, that would be different. Another question: How would Elio Motors know that someone sold their SIL unless the original person sends a confirmation somehow? An opportunity for a hacker to steal all the SIL and re-assign them perhaps?

I already checked and know how it works. If I'm wrong, then I'll be out $100 and the original owner will be only out $900. This is only about me and the the SIL owner that's 100% done with Elio. If I do it wrong, then it's my fault. I can live with a $100 mistake.

Yeah. This is my last post here.

My money’s gone and it’s not coming back. Elio isn’t just not going to happen, it was never going to happen. Paul Elio was just the latest in a series of people who recognized that there was an attractive pitch to be made around this type of vehicle, but never had any reasonable plan to take it from sales-props to market.

The weekly newsletter long ago gave up trying to even make it seem that there was progress being made and started recycling old articles. This is just too depressing to even keep reading about, so I’m purging my links, email, etc.

Good luck to all.
I agree with you but don't forget how much fun it was for the past several years hoping it was really going to happen. I guess I must not learn from past mistakes but I just put in a reservation for an Ampere due for delivery this year. I will not be throwing away my Elio tee shirts and bumper stickers. Yes, good luck to all who keep the faith.

That Ampere looks pretty nice, and i'm not a prude, BUT here it rains most everyday and I wouldn't want to have to go to work soak and wet. Guess if you lived in southern California it would be ok.

They are offering a top.

However, they're almost a year behind their original projected delivery date and still haven't shown any pictures of the final pre-production prototype. All the pictures of the "factory" show a completely empty building. No equipment. Not a single station or machine.

I have not given up on Elio, even though I know the path to production will be very difficult. The Elio experience has been very good for me. I made my reservation 4 1/2 years ago. $1,000 all in. At the time I was looking to replace my 9 year old car with something newer. Waiting on the Elio caused me to keep driving my older car and it's still running trouble free! Saving $$$ :wof:
