LOL... My father in law actually worked for some limosine service that actually drove vans picking up and dropping off train crews. But, he's retired from that now. I think most of the hotels in the area have a shuttle service from the Airport... surely the hotel/casinos all do. (The riverwalk area is actually quite nice now) It would be nice if Elio would have a shuttle service from the hotel. In fact, if they had some discount agreement with one of the hotels, they could probably have a bunch of people each day staying there - plus, it would be easy to shuttle a group at a time from the hotel to the factory to get a tour and watch your car being assembled. Then, a picture with your new car... Yeah, that's the ticket.
Yea, I've got a couple of rolls of nickels to play with.I believe I remember reading somewhere that Elio was looking into making a deal with one of the hotel and casinos to offer those of us who do factory pickup a package deal with a hotel stay and such. I am sure they would include a shuttle service to the factory in a deal like that. I am sure the hotel and casinos would go for it as it would be a steady stream of people who may end up gambling some of their money away in the casino.
Vehicle color. Y'know, with modern polymers & adhesives, I'll bet modifying foundation body colors with custom shaped pieces would be a snap! Another whole industry started by this thing ?Assigned delivery date will be a factor, but fly to Shreveport from Fairbanks or Boise, then road trip 1,800 miles to Marsing, ID.. Depending on season of year, put in storage or hit the road to Fairbanks 2,600 miles. Just drove the ALCAN and didn't see anything that might be an Elio issue except flying road gravel (and lotts of truck traffic south of Ft. Nelson!). Will look at installing a set of driver LEDs at some point and cc (think this will be standard) is a must. Am leaning towards the gray color and will add dark green pannels in some form. Orange makes more sense when visibility is a concern and hasn't been rulled out! Standard transmission! Another plus for Elio - going through US and Can. customs should be a snap!!
Is there a thread somewhere in regards to picking up at the factory?
