Hello From Fort Collins Co

I live in Fort Collins (northern Colorado) and commute to Denver (a 70 mile, one-way drive). Frankly, I think the Elio is ugly as sin, and my wife says that if I get it, she won't ride in it. But I'll gladly deal with those issues to not have to spend $90+ a week on gas. Right now, I'm trying to scrape together the money for a $100 deposit. Other information about me: I work in traffic control, an an avid reader, and write a food blog in my spare time.

Welcome Edward! We are glad you decided to join our Elio fan club. We all have many reasons we like, and sometimes dislike, this car but I think most everybody likes the fact it is inexpensive and uses very little fuel. Welcome from southern Oregon, Edward. You sound like an interesting person. I don't envy a job in traffic control but I am also an avid reader and am very curious about the kind of food blog you write. Nutrition is one of my many interests and I am specifically interested in any potential recipes/ideas for using industrial hemp. I put it in everything and have bought every cookbook I could find but am always looking for more ways to include it in my diet. The only "high" I get is from increased energy because of better protein absorption. What's not to love about that! I look forward to hearing more from and about you. I'm simply sorry to hear you think my Elio is ugly as sin. LOL :-) Z

zelio,I don't adhere to any particular type of diet, with myself out my blog. The premise of it for people that think they don't know how to cook and show them how easy it can be with simple, home style dishes and helpful kitchen tips.
For what it's worth, I want creamsicle, too. Orange is my favorite color; I used to own an orange 68 Beetle.

Welcome aboard Edward! I'm an alumnus of CSU retired and living in central Florida. Like you I have some issues with the appearance of the Elio. However, whatever issues I have definitely take a back seat to all the good things this vehicle offers.

Welcome from an Elio fan in the neighboring state of New Mexico. The elio will certainly grow on you and I think it would be a perfect car for the long daily commute. Now that I'm retired I don't need it for that reason and it will become my "fun and fantasy" car.
