491, welcome and with the Elio, like the casinos, there is no guarantee. As you can see there are nearly 34,000 people who believe in the Elio and over 10,000 of us have made the maximum allowed reservation and firmly believe in Paul Elio and Elio Motors. I am very confident that I will be driving my Elio before Christmas 2015. By using the search function you will be able to find all information necessary to make a decision if he Elio is right for you. If you have questions, just ask because we are a helpful friendly bunch and someone will try to answer them. Only you can decide if you want to join us on this historic and exciting journey

I joined a long long time ago when it was the P1 and production was scheduled for mid 2014. I've been on this journey for a while now and starting to wonder when I'll get there. I would like to be as confident as you are that I will be driving my Elio by Christmas 2015 but I also thought I would have been driving it to work TODAY based on original promisses. This is my 3rd delivery date extension and I fully expect a 4th and 5th. I made my decision that the Elio was right for me before most on this forum even knew it existed and have researched more than most as well. There are few questions I have left other than WHEN? I see no serious cash outlays yet and as far as I know, the only money they have invested in Shreveport was the sign they had made up at Fast Signs for the photo op and PR.

I understand your concerns. Compared to you I am a newbee because I made my first reservation in September 2013 when the sales pitch was that anticipated production to begin in before mid-2014. As we both know it has been pushed to third quarter 2015. We also know part of that delay was a result of the negotiations for the Shreveport plant. I am still optimistically confident that I will be driving mine before Christmas 2015. If 491 is your production number you will be driving yours well before me and I hope you are.

I guess I missed the Friday Place In Line (PIL) email. I was hopeful but it seems many that had been in and waiting a log longer than I am were batched up and notified already. I guess I'll have to wait for the next notice, maybe around the first of October. Ok, that's fine, I can wait. I won't be bothered,....humphhh....

Yep, the cutoff date was 9/9/14 for getting your production number.
I got in on 9/10/14 but that doesn't bother me because the line employees should be trained better by them and we may get a better off the line product.

Well, well, well,...I find myself at a crucial point in my pursuit of an Elio. It seems something was "wrong" with my reservation.

Let's recap: I started with a $250 Want In deposit on September 4th, 2014 and found this group to join in the excitment and anticipation of the new product development and release speculation. I had received an email confirmation of my initial payment. On September 12th I went All In with what I thought was a upgraded reservation and received a new email as receipt of the additional $750 payment. Neither email classified the type of reservation that the deposit paid for so I expected everything to be fine, for both. I checked my bank account and the credit showed to Elio Motors.

When this last round of reservations numbers began to hit and members here posted their individual and corporate joy, I became concerned and email the Elio sales team to find out the status of my reservation, to find out that they had changed the method of "upgrade" sometime along the way. I was informed via email the refundable reservation are not subject to upgrade and that additional paperwork was required that included a signature of a scanned document, etc.

So, I don't have my place in line, have never had an All In reservation and would probably still be waiting if I had not contacted the Elio Sales Team to inquire about the status of my frustrating reservation. The Sales Team was happy to take my money, but failed to follow through by alerting me of the confusing status of my reservation. I have requested that all my money be refunded while I revaluate my position, since I won't loose a All In place in line that I never actually had to begin with; if I decide to maintain my level of interest, I can go All In for the $1K and still obtain the same sales order position since I don't actually have a position to loose.

I pretty disappointed and dejected...

Sorry to hear that Bill, I would be frustrated too. I know that a few months ago, when I would look at the reservation screen and options and the flow of entering the information, it was less than intuitive for sure.

If you still have the emails, where the first says $250 Want in and the second says $750 more for the All-in upgrade to $1000, I would forward them to Elio's customer support email address, let them know "what was I supposed to think?", ask them if there's anything they can do for you, besides put you at the end of the $1000 all-in line.

wow .... sorry to hear of the SNAFU .... I just checked the website and while all of the descriptions but the $1,000 in the "All In" group show "Upgradable reservation." none of the Want In descriptions are so noted .... I hadn't noticed that and it can make a considerable difference .... just asking : if you add $250 to the All In reservation to move it to $1,000 wouldn't you get a number and have a total of $1,000 + $250 (bonus) + $250 (Want In) = $1,500 credit toward an Elio

Go to the Elio Motors website and click on the "support" tab. There is a section on how to convert your "want in" reservation to an "all in" reservation. It will put you in line for the next release . They have been pretty responsive about fixing those issues.
