I had bad experiences with my Caprice Wagons, that I would never purchase another GM product. Hondas and KIAs have been flawless...

Domestic auto makers are not capable of designing and building a quality automobile .The big "3" have turned to high cost SUV's and pickups at big bucks .Wait till Honda and KIA move into the market along with the others and there will be no Ford or GM .

My wife bought a 2019 KIA which is way better than her Ford Focus .
I'm amazed at the percentage of 4wd vehicles here in South Florida

BTW, interesting to note, GM expanded in China after they got their bailout in 2008 and is keeping those plants open.

The Lordstown plant would be perfect for Elio. Much more modern plant, skilled workers still there and it’s in the hotbed of blue chip suppliers/automation/tooling companies. Way better than the Shreveport plant. It makes the Cruze which would be a similar size and it’s a pure unibody. In addition to that, the plant hasn’t been mothballed like the Shreveport plant, so the costs would less.

Centrally located. The local community will be scrambling to get anything they can in there ASAP.
I live 48 minutes away. I'd come out of retirement to work at a Lordstown Elio plant.
Could the plant end up in RACERs hands? If so, Stu's still their go-to.

Wouldn't that get the attention of every litigator in Louisiana? Elio would be spending all their time in court.

Actually it would be better off for them to just walk away and let them get all of those great deals like they claimed in the past (i.e. Range Rover). It gets to a point where you just got to cut you losses and go where they really want you. Trust me, Ohio really want's to keep that plant open and so do all of the other companies that supply the auto industry in that state (i.e. Honda). I don't know who here has ever been to Ohio, but they do lots when it comes to the car industry and have a massive amount of resources. I deal with lots of companies in Ohio as opposed to barely anyone in LA (especially since the Shreveport plant shut down).

It would be great for Elio to cut the ties with an area that has come to an end when it comes to favors and capitalize on an area that welcomes them with open arms. I'd be willing to bet that it would get the funding machine up an running in a heartbeat.

I'm certainly no lawyer, but doesn't EM have a legal agreement with Caddo Parish and didn't EM promise to bring all those jobs to Shreveport? And... didn't EM strip the plant of all the "unusable" equipment and sell it off? Sounds to me like they are committed to the good people of Shreveport. If EM all of a sudden drops them and goes to Ohio, I would think the lawsuits would start flying around pretty fast.

..... of course this is all academic if EM can't get the funds they need to build cars....
