Look at this way, you can purchase lottery tickets or go to the casino and have a 100% chance of ending up with nothing or you can invest in the future of the American worker. This is a perfect opportunity to create 1500 new jobs in the USA and give the big 3 a kick in the balls. Remember the big three used the bailout money (your tax dollars) and purchased a bus ticket to Mexico or some other country and left the American worker on the street. Invest your money in Elio, at a minimum you will take pride in the fact that you are supporting the American worker. This car will also help cut out on the need for foreign oil. Show your loyalty for the Country that you live in. Just because you drive a Chevy don't mean you support the American worker, look at the Vehicle Identification Number on your Chevy, there is a good chance that it starts with the number 3 meaning that it was made in Mexico.

Hello fellow elio's I too have concerns. I would like to see an order website where u can actually specify options like auto, and color. Also should show the price less you're all in amount and give an order number. That way you know what your waiting for.

dteke, this in a valid concern for a lot of folks.

You are looking for a solid order platform that will be coming down the pike.
The price is a target right now and although it is one of their 4 major goals, it is still not locked in.
If this is a major concern for you wait until the order website is up. If you are willing to take a chance, the rewards are a 50% return on your investment and getting one sooner.

http://www.eliomotors.com/#store is the spot to keep an eye on it.

It took a few days for it to complete, I received my place line number ( I assume this will be the serial number) in 28 days by e mail.
Originally, they said it would say 'Processing', until you made your final selections at production time; but now I believe it is 'Complete', when the funds are transferred. On the 'serial number' hopefully, but they may also have to 'fit in' some 'stock/show' units for their Dealerships, and maybe some 'fleet orders' along the way.

I don't think the American 3 are worried about the Elio as much as the value brands Toyota, Honda, Hyundai, Kia. Why? Because they have fewer entry level cars..........Btw the American automakers brought jobs back to USA. Fusion now made here instead of Mexico. GM building Sonic in USA instead of Mexico (btw I think that it was the plant Elio originally wanted; in Orion Township).....bailouts, let's not forget Wall Street..........Hyundai comes to USA, no problems, when Ford wanted a piece of South Korea, they were told they had to have a joint venture with a Korean OE manufacture(Hyundai). GM bought into Daewoo. Hyundai did not have to do the same when they came to the USA (joint venture). Japan not letting foreign vehicles in country without huge tariffs. Don't tell me American manufactures didn't have any cars the Japanes didn't want. The American manufactures(Ford,GM) have European subsidiaries that have cars they would have easily fit in the Japanese market (right hand drive, small displacement engines, world class cars), and would have contributed profits. The Japanese, Korean car companies do not employ more American workers than the American 3. You had me had employing Americans, lost me at the attack of the 3.

Ok then, don't put up the measly $1k for one of the first Elio's. All of your friends and family are going to hate you when you complain about how you ALMOST bought in on one when they were first offered.

I'm happy it is not available yet. I've changed my mind so many times on the color I want.

I believe that you are correct about the stock/show units jumping in line, also the guys like Jay Leno will get to jump to the front. Its not going to be a big deal as long as I get mine.

I get a big kick out of folks that would rather have them spend money on answering emails than pushing out their new rig as quick as they can...
Give me a break,,, and be happy there is something new and innovative to talk about and be a part of...
I saw somebody ask what they can do to help,,,, I suggest stay out of the way, don't waste those creative peoples time, (answering stupid questions) ...
And, for heavens sake, don't make stupid suggestions like roll up windows,,,, cause what????? cause your toyota pickup has them???? laugh you clean to tokyo....
Part of doing business is communicating with your customers. And you ought to be smart enough to know that the people you hire to produce a product don't answer the phone.
