"Question- What progress is being made now?" At any stage in the project until the big money comes in, they will remain in funding mode..which could take years so it's not just EM, but the rest of the new players in the field who want to make a break through. Some just used their limited funding WISELY and concentrated on completing their R & D for some real test drives. Marketing it becomes much easier when future customers can actually get a feel of what they're about to invest in- but not the other way around. It's easy to create the HYPE with claims of good mileage and very low price but with nothing to show for it after years of faithful following by reservation holders, the hype dies down and so are their chance of ever making it. It all comes down to managing that limited start up budget. Mr. Kroll reached out to the Chinese, got them interested and offered a partnership with them because he's got SOLO reservations to fulfill! I would've preferred to keep it all American made for American jobs but when all is said and done you do whatever it takes to deliver the goods. Even Elon Musk who probably don't need more funding( I'm assuming) also reached out to the Chinese to build his plant there....because he's got reservations to fulfill. ELIO remains my favorite ICE 3 wheeler. Two seater, front wheel drive and with a proven 3 cyl. , I'm very positive it'll be the best short or long range daily driver bar none with it's streamlined body and half the weight of a regular vehicle. I surely wish for an announcement from EM soon regarding funding or I'll end up with a SOLO EV this year. (Note: Delete as needed).

Now that Roush is integrating the new engine into the Elio, progress reports would be good. Perhaps pictures of the Elio at the Roush facilities. These can be taken such that the engine is not showing.

So they spent all that time and money on the other engine and just throwing that away? I understand going with the better option, but for a few years, they were updating us on that engine and showing all these pics of it. That had to cost quite a bit to develop/test, etc. I thought they should have went with an already manufactured (modern day) engine the whole time.

What's done is done, I'm just hoping that future investors can get past their earlier mismanagement and take a risk with the ELIO which I still believe will sell plenty! I don't know really how many of the original 65K reservation holders are left but whatever is it, it's still a good number. Complete the R&D, find the right engine and get it out there quick for some test drives! Heck, I'm one of those who can't wait to get my hands on one so I can TURBOgize it, fatten the tires, CRAZYpaint it, some might even WING it, we're in America people, the land of innovators and inventors!
