and for years many of updates/info from EM were "premature" Way back they saw the light
I don't know how stocks/offerings work, but they seem to be bound not to supply news.
Remember the old saying-
"No news is no news", but for me, those blips are acceptable. Jerome played it close to his vest when I saw him at Elio showings, and I always thought he was a great rep for the product.

Happy Friday Elio’ers! As you probably know, the Three Wheeling Friday Blog is a pretty optimistic place, and why not, after all it is the end of the work week. This week, recent articles highlighted two issues that could impact our fans that we felt we should discuss. Don’t worry, it’s not all doom and gloom, as the Elio is a positive in these discussions. Without further ado…

High Prices, High Interest

A recent article by The Detroit News is titled “Auto consumers feel pinch as interest rates rise.” Ouch. As we’ve talked about in past blogs, new and used car prices are spiraling out of control, and it looks like no end is in sight. Not only are prices rising, but interest rates are following suit. According to the article, “The average annual percentage rate for a new-car loan was 5.8 percent last month, up a full percentage point from September 2017. In real terms, that means someone taking out a five-year, $30,000 car loan would pay $828 in additional interest over the course of the loan: $4,632 in interest payments vs. $3,804. The last time the average interest rate for a car loan was above 6 percent was January 2009.”

It’s easy to find a problem, but much more difficult to find a solution. Ours- to offer a new vehicle, with a 3-year, 36,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty, at a fraction of the cost of the average new vehicle on the road today. We also plan on offering several different financing options for our customers. No matter the figures, the equation benefits Elio owners.

Leave Only (Small) Footprints

Another recent article, this time by Auto Blog, reports that “The United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change just issued a chilling report on how carbon emissions will catastrophically affect humans in the coming decades…The transportation sector — and the oil and utility companies that support it — play a massive role in this conversation.” Regardless of your position on the issue, the conversation is an important one.

Again, the Elio can provide a sensible solution to the problem. At up to 84 MPG on the highway and 49 in town, the Elio is highly efficient and can help thousands of commuters cut down on their carbon footprint. Even if you’re not exactly an environmentalist, the gas savings will leave you with plenty of green. Forgive us if our math is incorrect, but we believe that the Elio X 84/49= Green.

Thanks for your support and have a tremendous weekend!

I hope I don't have to buy into that Man caused Global Climate Change Con Game in order to enjoy the benefits of an efficient mode of transportation. The CLIMATE is ALWAYS changing, with or without Humans.

HUMOR - I'm just glad we fixed the problem of the coming Ice Age we were being warned about when I first took Climatology.

Hi- Marshall, you are sooo right, it's not humans-

COWS VS CARS ANSWERS

Q. There are more cars than cows in the world

A. False

While it's difficult to know the exact number, studies have estimated that there are around 1.3-1.5 billion cows in the world, compared to 1 billion cars. However, with growing populations and cars being manufactured all the time, the opposite could be true in the coming years.

Q. Adding garlic to a cow’s diet improves their breath and lowers the amount of methane in their farts

A. True

Cows - along with sheep, goats, giraffes and deer ('ruminants') - produce methane gas when digesting their food. This is because all these animals have four stomachs, and when eating, the food arrives in the first stomach, but then it comes back up (yuk!) to be eaten and swallowed again!
To try and reduce the amount produced through burping and farting, scientists tried adding garlic to their diet, which can break up the organisms in the gut which produce methane.

Q. Methane produced by cows is more damaging to our climate than the carbon dioxide produced by cars

A. True, its 23x worse!

It's true! In fact it's much, much more! Although methane stays in the atmosphere for less time than carbon dioxide, it has been estimated that methane gas from cows is 23x more damaging to our climate than the carbon dioxide produced by cars! Even though there is more carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, methane traps more heat from the sun, meaning it contributes far more to greenhouse gases and global warming.

Q. Scientists use lasers to find out the speed and direction of a cow’s fart.

A. True

Crazy, but true! This method is used to see the difference in gas emissions between breeds of cows over set time periods. This allows scientists to know more about what types of greenhouse gases the cows give off through burping and farting, as well as where the gas is, how much there is, and where and how fast it travels.

Q. Cows contribute more to climate change in a year than cars do in the same amount of time.

A. True

This is true, but that is because they each produce a different type of greenhouse gas. Cows produce methane, while cars produce carbon dioxide. Methane is a much more powerful and damaging greenhouse gas than carbon dioxide, although it stays in the atmosphere for less time.

Q. You can use cow farts to charge your smartphone

A. False

Actually, there is a tiny bit of truth in this one. There have been experiments in farms in Wales, which looked at trapping cow farts and converting them into electricity. However, this was seem as unfair to the cows, as they would need to be kept in a bubble in order to catch the gas, as well as being expensive and difficult to manage.

Q. Farmers have to pay a 'fart tax' on their cows to cover the potential damage their burping and farting is doing to the planet.

A. False

No, farmers don't have to pay a 'fart tax'... for now! In New Zealand in 2003, the government proposed that this type of tax should be paid by farmers, much like the car tax (or vehicle excise duty to give it it's proper name), because both cars and cows produce harmful emissions. However, the public did not agree and the idea was scrapped.

I'm happy to see that Elio is still on board with the UN and working to fix the climate change that humans have done. That along with fixing the poverty cycle and more American jobs is why it's the only choice. Having Elio Motors correcting a social and climate issues is why we need this car. If there's one blog that has hit the nail on the head as to why 65K got involved and invested into the company because they were looking to fix the social and climate issues . I hope Elio makes more blogs like this because it would definitely speed up the investment in the company and allow all of the reservation holders to fix this mess of the climate we have on our hands and let everyone else know about it.

I just remembered it’s a Burger/Fries & Beer for $10 night at the local pub.

No, you didn't. I added Ford in there. But wouldn't that just be a great Friday Blog?
