I had a similar system on my tow rigs so I am also wondering how this compares to that one.

that is what I'm looking forward to hearing from you guys .... in reading the specs, the thing that jumped out to me is the 2 year life for the sensor battery .... with our system the sensor batteries have a 5 (or longer) year life .... with our system, if the batteries are removed when the vehicle/camper is not in use, it drastically prolongs the battery life .... I found no mention about his in the specs for your system ... it might be a good question to ask them

I actually did ask about this and was told that the sensors only turn on and broadcast when there is about 5 PSI of air pressure on them so the batteries should last a while when removed from the vehicle. This is actually done purposely to prolong the shelf life of the product.

Okay this is weird:

6:15 a.m. I checked the tracking number, shows in Oakland so I'm thinking it could get delivered today but still shows Friday... (I digitally signed for the signature required)

9:45 a.m. Get a call FedEx/Customs want to know what kind of tire is it? I explain its a TPMS, they say okay it will go through and I should have it tomorrow.

Noonish doorbell rings I wasn't able to answer didn't have phone on me......tell son, who rung the doorbell about an hour ago......he's like huh I didn't hear the bell. I tell him to go check. Sure enough a FedEx tag is on the door

2:30 Get home, doing chores.......pay bills door bell rings........ITS FEDEX WITH FOBO!!!! They came back?! problem is its only 2 and not 5 that I ordered.

Lets hope the other 3 come tomorrow.......speaking of tomorrow........I had to take the day off to play with my new toys


I'll take the Mrs. to work, go to Big O (had new tires installed and feel a slight vibration, balancing issue?) and THEN I'll get to play

What would be my optimal tire pressure? Sticker on car door says 35 psi but these are not the original tires. Does it matter? I would think so......

Do you guys agree with the recommended tire pressure?

Optimal tire pressure for a given weight is very close to (Max load printed on tire)/(Max pressure on tire)x(actual weight on tire). Of course this varies depending on load, even the amount of fuel in the tank. You could drive yourself nuts that way. Racers have it down to an art, even farmers nowadays spend a lot of time finding the optimum pressure to get the absolute best perfomance.

In a passenger car, anywhere from the placard pressures on the door to the max pressure on the tire will be perfectly fine, giving up a bit of ride quality if over inflated, but unless you're way high on pressure, tire wear will not be affected too much by more pressure, and you might see a small fuel mileage increase.

I haven't read up on the Fobo system, but it sounds like pressures are programmable - I think I'd set the alarm pressure about 10% under the door placard pressure.
