From the score, (175-142) it looks like that last match was incredible!

So do you figure you're good for St. Louis? We are currently 4th in the District with 113 points. I believe that they take 25 or so from our district. I don't know how this district model works, but it appears as if we'd better start making travel plans...

The last match was a good one, but our alliance captain wasn't doing their share of the work. Too bad, because our drive team was dialed in. The scoring is strange this year. Somehow we had the highest goal points, highest autonomous points, and I think even the highest defense points and still seeded 6th.

At 110 district points we would qualify for district champs even if we hadn't won a Chairman's Award. However, we still need to do at least OK at the district champs to get enough points for St. Louis. Points at the district champs count triple toward world champs.

And travel plans sound like a good idea for you guys. If your performance at district champs is anything like your events up until now you'll need them!

We are thinking of bailing on climbing. We won't get to Einstein with out climbing I'll bet, but we probably won't get there anyway.
Ten points are easier gotten by scoring in autonomous or scoring two more high goals in the 20 seconds that it's ok to climb.
We'll miss the excitement factor, but it's all about the points, and not hurting something that is working...

We did not climb, and in fact only one team out of 32 did so reliably. One faction of our team is still intent on building a climber. If it compromises any of what the robot can do now if won't be staying on the machine.

I'm actually the lead of the climb team. I have two different designs that are almost ready to be bolted on, but we are looking at different / more-bang-for-the-buck ways of gaining those ten points.

District Championship this weekend for the Chesapeake District. Playing for an invitation to the National Championship in St. Louis. We are currently ranked 11th of 132 teams. They will probably invite the top ten to fifteen teems to nationals, so we're right in there.
