"Whatever happened to the engine reveal and "first start?" It was supposed to be Feb. 6th. That was over 2 weeks ago and not a peep."

Just hold on, the cheerleaders will be with you shortly will all the excuses you will ever need.
Yup, this was a big fat FAIL, if you cancel a big event, announce when it is being rescheduled for, or a timeframe at least, or even a video of it running for a press release.

agree .... I've noted several times that Paul or whoever is in charge of EM's public relations/information releases is in need of some serious guidance .... to me, they should be attempting to turn a negative into a positive, not a bigger negative

I only bought into this last fall, so I'm not familiar with the particular features of their delays. Are they always this bizarre? Very unslick to handle things this way. Sure does beg the obvious question if something really bad happended with the motor.

I most certainly agree, see post 92 .... while its easy to understand the question being raised, reports from our members who have contacts within the company say the motor's fine .... actually better than fine, its exceeding projections .... I'd rather go with info based on resources that have proven to be reliable than those pulled out of the air

Mainly elsewhere
i don't do FB as I found it far too intrusive in my personal life so have possibly missed out on quite a lot of Elio news.

Has a new "engine launch" date for the press been set?

not that I've seen .... pretty quiet on that front .... don't know if the emergency at IAV has been resolved .... I suspect that finding a date that is open for a good number of key supporters who need to be there might take some looking

Let us hope that at least one of those key supporters is trying to clear their schedule from the FY2016 budget request to Congress for DOE.

OK, then assuming the engine isn't the problem and everything is hunky-dory there, what ELSE might be the source of such odd behavior? Option 1 - they got bad news from ATVM, e.g. either an outright refusal or something material that would cause a serious delay in processing of the loan, putting any funding date too far into the future to make their new dealine for production. Option 2 - they are courting another major investor who wants to do due diligence on their entire porfolio and asked for an embargo on disclosures while that is happening.

One of the reasons this seems particularly odd (again assuming the engine is ok) is that having a completed and functional motor would actually be something material to support the ATVM. Again, the closer they are to production, the better their odds of a successful ATVM outcome as this de-risks this for DoE and underwriters.

its easy to sit back and guess .... I tend to try and stay away from doing so, I'd rather deal with facts than guesses .... they say the delay was called by IAV due to an emergency they had to deal with for one of their major customers .... I stopped worrying about it after that
