I do have a question, has anyone heard how the Elio should do long distance? My enthusiasm for this car is because most of my family is in Kansas and gas prices keep me from visiting as often as I would like. Do they expect the Elio to perform well on long trips? 750 miles each way.

Welcome Jamz. The engine this is based on is known for being reliable through the multiple 100k miles, so I wouldn't worry about it.

Would running the engine with Mobil 1, oil changes every 10,000 miles affect its longevity?
