I know Racer Trust was invited to the meeting. Was Elio? I don't see it in the article but Elio could have mentioned going to the meeting somewhere else. I can't see the Parish raising a stink. If they boot Elio from there, all they've done is assured that there will be no income from the property for quite a while. It isn't like there are a bunch of car companies looking for a place to build. This article and the date of the Oct. 26 meeting have been referenced on this site in other threads (http://www.shreveporttimes.com/stor...ing-general-motors-shreveport-plant/91179046/) but I wonder what strategy Elio Motors plans to take.
Defensive - show no presence and send no official representatives or spokespeople, allowing parties with gripes to have an unifying pissing match, with Elio Motors remaining on the sidelines hoping the negative publicity simply fades to nothing
or
Offensive - bring Paul and/or Jerome or other company representatives, and at least the P4 or P5, and project a strong business pitch for where the company stands, honest and no bullshit, in an attempt to put out fires with local residents, stakeholders, politicians and city/parish officials, and most importantly, the likely future Elio assembly plant workforce
I could see them making a public appearance but sort of Trojan Horse style without advance notice or cause to drum up paparazzi more than is necessary.
".....I need at least a month." May I ask why it takes you so long?If they post info just a day or so in advance of an event, I'll never make one.Unless its here, I need at least a month.

Do you have to ask for permission or something?
Tell them you had a personal emergency; you desperately need to secure your curiosity about a personal matter; and you'll be back in a few days; there's a specialist that will only be at <insert location> during those days; and it's the only chance you'll get.Yes, in order to schedule vacation time I need to submit several weeks in advance.

I do not recommend lying to an employer. I know they never hesitate to lie to us, but they don't put up with it from employees.Tell them you had a personal emergency; you desperately need to secure your curiosity about a personal matter; and you'll be back in a few days; there's a specialist that will only be at <insert location> during those days; and it's the only chance you'll get.
Tell them you're sick...of waiting for your Elio. Ok, leave that last bit out.Tell them you had a personal emergency; you desperately need to secure your curiosity about a personal matter; and you'll be back in a few days; there's a specialist that will only be at <insert location> during those days; and it's the only chance you'll get.
