What do you mean, "on hold"? The Solo has been on sale in the U.S.A. and Canada since September 9, 2016, according to the internet.

LOL

I'm assuming you're referring to the more recent article:
https://www.theglobeandmail.com/dri...he-three-wheeled-canadian-ev-you-cant-buy-in/

The article sounded like an EMV ad, but the comments were hilarious.
Those early Canadian and U.S.A. Solos were all one-off betas. They were individually registered for the roads. They weren't even Canadian or NHTSA production certified. They were basically registered as experimental and prototypes. The new ones coming from China are the real NHTSA deal. So, yes I've never looked at the Canadian requirements, but it sounds reasonable that they might require side bags.

Some days I wish I had held on to #129........I could have sold it to you for a big profit! :)
Honestly, I would gladly pay more if I can get it this week rather than waiting to read for more "updates". Last time I corresponded with FMV, they said this August will see shipments of 2.0 units. we shall see....
I would also gladly WAIT more if they offer a SOLO with LONGER range battery, faster 0-60 and top speed of at least 100 mph. Otherwise, with it's current specs, I would be uncomfortable using it on freeways where 16 wheelers gets past you at SOLO's top speed of just 82 mph.

I would have been happy to transfer my reservation # off to you had it been possible. What the heck....you would feel safer on freeways in a SOLO with a top speed of 100 mph? Heck, I plan to stay off the freeways in my ‘city commuter’ FUV regardless of top speed and still worry about safety. I think we will both find it was worth the wait. No easy task bringing a new vehicle to production.

Unfortunately, I don't think you'll see an increase in top speed in the foreseeable future. EMV has a couple of other models in the oven that will serve as their tire burners. I don't think 82 is that bad for the freeways. It's the time it takes to get there (nimbleness) that I'm more concerned with. I've got a blinged out 250 Virago that's pure joy to ride on the streets and secondary roads, but will wear you out in an hour on the interstates @ 79mph.

I agree it's meant for city commuting than freeway driving!
