interesting options, Get the choice Solo/Elio, ($ and fun) but it's another playground $$$ with the Beemer ?, well, you do get an extra wheel :-)

When I invested into Elio, money was a big concern in my life. The idea was to help make something that would improve the lives to all who shared my financial situation.

My life has changed in a way that will allow me to purchase a Tesla, and help change the world in another way.

Both are intent on dumping the dealer model, so in many ways, it's the same battle, just a different financial class.

I drove a 2018 Nissan Leaf last evening. It was an incredibly smooth and silent ride. My wife thinks the Camry (2010, 94k) is dead because the alternater failed. So I decided to do some preliminary shopping. any ideas?

A while back I read an article about how long it took for the saving in fuel to pay you back for the extra cost of electric. Excuse me if I don't get the figures exactly right but here it is. Clark Howard (the money guru) bought a Leaf and figured it would take 9 years for the payback.... but he still liked it. The Chevy Volt came out to about 20 years!

You could be like me and just buy a wrecked BMW i3 with REX at an auction. Fix it up (all the body panels are carbon fiber and just bolt on), so if you are patient, you can find the same color panels and just bolt them on. So far that thing is dirt cheap to drive. I have to run the motor once in a while just to burn through the 2.5 gallons of gas that is in it. With my adjustable rate for electric (cheaper at night) it's cheap to recharge. It runs me about a grand total of $20/month in electric costs. For farting around town, it's a great car and has lots of room.

Wonder if that includes maintenance.
I need to find cost per mile stats.

Although, no longer a fan of this company, the announcement of the first real deal USA Solo Store Grand opening with a couple of test driveable SOLOWS setting on the showroom floor is good news for reservationists indeed. Very happy for the SOLO fan base.

One person, short range, small trunk, high price. I think I'll wait for the Elio...

On the other hand, it's just weird enough to be a big seller in California.
