Eco Motors Engine?

I do value the tandem seating aspect but feel that the major reason the Elio is going places(pun intended) is because of the use of off the shelf parts which are successfully cobbled to get a low price point for a dependable cost efficient comfortable safe driving machine. The aspect of part acquisition is the key to the price.

That's true. I meant that the form and function fits with the Elio. It's a more compact motor and should be a lot more inexpensive than anything else out there in that it has few moving parts.

I have to tell you, Ty, the first time I read this all I could think is now I am going to have to peddle my Elio? I would rather have standard transmission. LOL :-) Z

If I read the thread correctly the ECO Motor is now owned by a Chinese company. Guess that would violate Paul Elio's American parts philosophy

Interesting vehicle. Much shorter wheelbase and appears to have a narrower track than Elio. Nice sounding exhaust, too.

I think this is a cool engine; OPOC from EcoMotors.

It seems like an engine for small cars and three wheel vehicles?

I think the eCo Motors has a neat internal combustion engine.

They had a three wheel car called EMC3 but I have not read much about it lately. It is - IMO - nice looking.

Automotive. article date is March 2009. I think Eco Motors was taken over by an Asian company.

It seems Eco Motors is now just about the engine (which I think is cool).

Perhaps a future engine for the Elio or other small four and three wheel cars?
