now imagine this same frame out of aluminum, which is about 20% lighter weight and more abundant on earth than steel. be like getting a bigger engine with better milage. more payload too.

I'd much rather they use steel because its much easier to weld when repairs or mods are in order

He has actually posted them on here at least once and possibly twice before. :) Z
Ya know Z? No matter what I think I know about the Elio, I find, or see something new to me every day on this forum. We have everything! Engineers from MANY fields, designers, IT people, pro mechanics, aircraft pilots, and even a locksmith (hi LockMD) and so on. Hate I missed these pics before, because they are very detailed, and answer a lot of questions. A big thanks to all our highly educated and experienced members. Please continue to share your expertise and knowledge with the rest of us. It IS appreciated.:D

interesting top view of the A frame alignment. kinda gets me to thinking again, about the torsion bar suspension for clearing the path for the drive shaft and eliminating the suspension links, as well as cleaner aerodynamics for less drag. it would require a heavier lower a frame arm, which could be a plus, as far as collision strength is concerned.

I agree with you, DWR. I don't know what other Elio related sites are like although I do know there are some on here who belong to more than one. What I do know is this is a wonderful information resource not only about Elio but other automotive and non-automotive issues. I love it! :-) Z
