Well I have a point to bring up on this same starting letter (I did receive it also); the part I'm referring to is the - "
  • An official place in line as one of 30,000+ reservation holders for as little as $100.
And today I get another email advertisement saying " Best of all, for as little as $100 you can secure your official place in line as one of 34,000+ reservation holders.

But ...... Yesterday I received an email from the Marketing Team saying " What is your number... we found the true meaning in this weeks blog... check it out!"
So I went into the blog and found this - " Spot in Line is only for the $1,000 All In reservation holders (Remember if you have e $500, $250, or $100 All In or any Want In you will not get a spot in line)

So I wonder what the truth is ? Unless they consider a Place in Line and a Spot in Line to be two completely different things.
The truth of the matter is only those with $1K all in get a production number. However, any reservation puts you in line. The difference being you can't be bumped down or bypassed once you have your spot in line. That is very simply, your spot. Any other level will fluctuate as others go all in for $1K and pass you by. I hope that helps a little. :-) Z

Right, this confirms the last item I brought up "......they consider a Place in Line and a Spot in Line to be two completely different things."
Thanks for the information.

Goofy reported seeing 10294 off of facebook, but HECK YEAH, You get the same prize as I do for being in this game. The pride of owning an elio !!!
Found myself navigating all over the website looking for the upgrade page, and finally got in at 10,262. Why did I wait so long (evening of Sept 1)?

The previous week on a vacation to Ohio and Buffalo what did I see? At a car museum in Canton was a full newspaper page titled, "2600 MAKES OF AUTOMOBILES MADE IN THE UNITED STATES IN THE PAST 80 YEARS OR MORE." It was printed a number of years ago and included a sub-heading of "The Greats That Still Survive After 40 Years or More." Included in that list were Oldsmobile, Pontiac and Plymouth.

A few days before I was in the Pierce Arrow museum in Buffalo. They had on display a 1948 Playboy automobile. Never heard of it? It was voted best small car of 1947, the first American automobile to have a retractable hard top, built and sold 97 cars for $985 before going broke, and Hugh Hefner changed the name of his new magazine from "Stag" to "Playboy" inspired by the car name, and potential legal issues with the original name. What did Preston Tucker, Henry Kaiser, 723 service station operators, 100,000 stock investors and Chang-Kai-Shek's cousin all have in common? They all bet and lost on the 1948 Playboy.

Were these two discoveries omens, or merely historical footnotes (though 2600 different makes is a hell of a footnote). Well, just say I upped my previous all-in to the $1000 level, cross my fingers, count on the manufacturing kinks to be mostly worked out by the time they build mine, and expect delivery within about two years based on unforeseen delays. So, I remain optimistic, as long as Elio can get the additional $200 million for production. It was lack of financing that did the Playboy car in.
