This thread has been created for the purpose of describing the ways to contact President Trump, members of the United States Senate and members of the United States House of Representatives.
1. Contacting President Trump
Use the website https://www.usa.gov/elected-officials to contact officials at the federal, state and local levels. This page has links that will be discussed later.
Using the website https://greatagain.gov/ is problematic. Using its Share Your Story option will take you to https://apply.ptt.gov/yourstory/ which activates the site's error handling code resulting in the page stating "Page not found." Using the Serve America option on the main page will explain the function of greatagain.gov. This website appears to be a transitional website because of the use of the words "President Elect" throughout the website.
There are two methods of contacting the President of the United States. First, google " how do you contact the president of the united states" Use the hit titled "Write or Call the White House" with the URL of https://www.whitehouse.gov/contact/write-or-call . The first option is "Submit Online". This option will take you to https://www.whitehouse.gov/contact#page . This page is excellent for messages up to 2,500 characters. Longer messages will result in the error message: "What would you like to say? field has a maximum length of 2500 characters." This page will not accept text with HTML tags. Adding HTML links to your message will result in the message:"What would you like to say? field can not contain any HTML tags." These two limitations are the only ones known to me; there may be more. The second option is "Write or Call" located on the current web page . Scan down the page and find: "If possible, email us! This is the fastest way to get your message to President Trump." SURPRISE! This link will take you to https://www.whitehouse.gov/contact/#page , the same page as the "Submit Online" option. Because whitehouse.gov would not accept my great thoughts, I went old school and sent my email to president@whitehouse.gov. I have heard nothing since, not even an automated thank-you letter. I am guessing that my email went into the bit bucket.
2. Contacting members of the Congress of the United States
To contact members of the United States Senate use: https://www.senate.gov/senators/contact/ . I used this address to sent a magnum opus to Tammy Duckworth, the junior senator from Illinois. The email was basically a link farm with links to the Elio Motors' website and to Elio Motors' Youtube channel. The Senate website converted the links into plain text. Therefore, if you add URL links to an email, don't give them a user friendly text name, use the HTML name.
To contact members of the United States House of Representatives use: http://www.house.gov/representatives/find/
