Elio and Earth Day 2016

Happy Friday Elio’ers! We hope that you have a nice “spring” in your step and are able to enjoy some warm weather. Of course, snow is still possible in some areas, but we’re getting further away from April showers and closer to May flowers. Some of us are ready for the spring and summer to arrive and trade the snow shovel for golf clubs and insect repellant.
Today marks the 46th Earth Day, a date that encourages all of us to do something positive for the planet. The Elio is a perfect symbol for Earth Day. Our vehicle is even more environmentally friendly than a cow’s gas. No, not gasoline, a cow’s flatulence! To read more about the “green” of Elio, click here. This year, we are very excited to celebrate Earth Day in Dallas at Earth Day Texas. If you are in the area, we’d love to see you!
With a project as large as ours, the team is typically spread all across the country, constantly making progress. This week was a great example as our Governmental Affairs team hit the road to share the P4 with the legislators in Iowa and Missouri. We took the Elio to the front steps of the Iowa and Missouri Statehouse, and the reception was phenomenal. Thanks to everyone who came out to show your support. We have very high expectations from our trip!

Recently, we released our ePlus: My Elio My Way program, which will allow our customers to customize their Elio online. When we introduced the program, we heard from our great supporters loud and clear that they couldn’t wait to get their hands on our configurator and let their imagination’s fly. Well, we have good news! The configurator will launch late next week and will give you a good idea of how you will be able to customize your Elio. Our ePlus option program will actually make an “option” an option, and we are excited to share the configurator with you. The configurator will start off with a set of options and every month we will add more and more as we finalize additional options and accessories. Look for the announcement and roll-out next week!
Elio Motors’ fans are not a shy group and love to share their opinions with us, and we love hearing from you. In recent months, we have heard from fans who would like a change in the way we send emails. We’ve taken your input to heart and will be outlining the changes in the next week or so. Basically, we will be sending out 2 emails a week on a normal week: one on Wednesday and one on Friday. We will occasionally send an additional email when the situation calls for it, and it will always be something important! We will have more information on the change next week.
