20 Elio's or 1 BMW i8.AAAnnnd what's the msrp?
I would be concerned that Jeff's "magic wand" may have been all used up, with the "wishes & dreams" that he has placed on it.Can I borrow your wand when you're done with it? I like the way it works.
You mean like this big plastic bumper? Sure.Do you really want to see big plastic 5 mph bumpers on it?
I don't know... taking away the HOV access may just be a deal breaker for me.You mean like this big plastic bumper? Sure.

OK, now having taunted you a bit I'll agree that we don't really want the Elio classified as a car. But I don't think it's the big bad boogeyman some folks appear to think it is. It wouldn't be the end of the world.
If the Elio does become a raging success it's only some sensationalist "Won't somebody think of the children!" mainstream media coverage of a crash or two away from being subject to all the automobile regulations.![]()
That's inevitable if it's successful. The real question is when. As a precedent, Kalifornia has taken away HOV for hybrids.I don't know... taking away the HOV access may just be a deal breaker for me.
But aren't some grandfathered in; like here in VA?That's inevitable if it's successful. The real question is when. As a precedent, Kalifornia has taken away HOV for hybrids.

I agree with goofyone. I am replying to his post so others can read it.Not yet, that is only what they intend to do. From what I understand they have found support but nothing will happen until the new congress is sworn in next year due to the current election cycle.
Elio Motors does actually expect to be able to get this passed for two reasons. The first reason is that this is a small change that will be tacked onto a larger bill and the bigger reason is that they expect to receive lobbying support from the major automaker who wishes to buy these credits.
