The black might indicate that the composit material is black or pretty close to it. So if you got a black one scrapes and scratches wouldn't show as much. ??

Nooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!Rats, another great rumor shot down. I guess we'll have to go back to arguing about which side the gas cap is on.
It's going to be a long year.![]()
You're looking at it the wrong way, black is the color of sophistication. It says, "I know it's only black but I'm just to cool for me to worry about it!" And remember, black is the new orange!I sure hope they are wrong about the exterior colors. I do not want a black vehicle and another added expense is definitely not needed.Z
You are absolutely correct that prices do vary by color and this is actually the reason we have been given for yellow not being included as a standard color. I have to ask again today however I believe EM simply has a paint cost budget in their price goal and is selecting colors which they like but also fit within the budget. This is apparently the standard automotive industry way of doing it and actually means that what everyone is paying for is the most expensive standard color and if you choose a less expensive color they make a little bit more money.
I asked the question on Elio Facebook.........why not bring back yellow? The response was we only have paint booth space for 7 colors.
