A supplier summit is planned Aug. 13-14 in Detroit.
You would think Detroit would be a little anti-Elio since final assembly happens in another state. But most of the suppliers are in Detroit and all across the US.

So the current issue is what will be announced, if anything, after this summit. Here's the tickler source;

http://www.shreveporttimes.com/story/news/2015/07/27/times-interviewing-paul-elio/30561561/

What we are hoping for ...
1) Description of the updated 'Funding Picture'. Frankly we want to know what's been enabled.
2) Accurate projection of the production schedule. Ok, will settle for a expectation and confidence level? Maybe, but we'll gripe about it.
3) Status of the P5 (, E1 or whatever ), expected completion etc.
4) Same as 3 for the E2-25
5) Status of engine testing and current specs.
6) Details about pilot production of engines, count, destination for use, etc.

anything else?
Rather than asking about, for instance, the "status on the P5", ask if the frame has been completed. If you just ask for a status, they can just say "It is in work". If you ask if the frame has been completed, they either say "Yes" or "No". I'd personally like to know if the frame design has been finalized and if they will now be able to make E01-E25 from that design. (It won't take long to duplicate what has already been done and if they are at a point where they are building the next 25 frames, it means they know the P5 frame is good and the only way they'd know that is if they were beyond the point of seeing if everything that bolts to the frame will work.)

Something else I've wondered about -- is the engine finalized enough that they are ready to begin producing them for their test vehicles?

AriLea, I have to apologize if I came on a little too strong. Just that I spent too many years having to be politically correct and getting BS answers for my trouble. Now days I tend to ask straight questions that call for simple, straight answers.

Great thread idea, thanks for starting it and listing the items and link above. Appreciate it very much!

I'm with WilliamH and Ty on these question and items. Specific questions will get a yes, no, or we can't answer that at this time.

Just some random thoughts from me:
  • the vehicles in order are P4, P5, E1, E2, E3, etc. Although the EM blog post says "... the E1 vehicles", doesn't make much sense to refer to all the engineering vehicles as "E1"; http://www.eliomotors.com/what-is-p-to-e/
  • the production schedule will be based on the funding picture; I'd be very surprised if they know the funding picture beyond the funding for the "E" vehicles; thus I'll be very surprised if they can give much of a production schedule that will be set in anything but extremely wet cement;
  • Paul himself said 20 weeks is the plan for the P5; if it was started in early June, then that takes us to late Oct at the earliest, so this is the expected answer on the P5; like Ty said, you could ask specifics on the frame, or the engine, or the Aisin transmission;
  • I like the question on the engine testing, haven't heard specifics about that in quite a while; maybe could ask "will a fully tested engine be placed in the P5 before the P5 is done?" That seems like an obvious 'yes', but it tells us a lot.
  • Will EM submit papers to the SEC for the selling of shares by Sept 1? Will the SEC take more than 3 months to approve such a request?
Again, thanks AriLea!

Oh not to worry, I have a long history of respect for your thinking and interests. I know how it feels in this adventure at the moment, and I resonate with that to some degree. And admittedly I get a little too starry eyed and bushy tailed even when it doesn't seem warranted on the surface.

Anyway it's all good. What you feel right now many people resonate with. We just want done-done.

But many of the fundamentals are under the base of this are such that it overrides the indicators at the tactical level view for me, if you know what I mean.
Because of that attitude, I see a great adventure at every blockade. It's like a Tolkien adventure, epic fun story line, but horrible to be in a real one if the outcome seems not so sure. ( my character in this seems to be more like Sam :-) )

I girdle myself with the thought, if it doesn't come off at least the best effort was made.

I think EM will release the P5 status and answers to all of our questions on their own terms and time table. They have been more sesiitve about releasing information until it's closer to fact which is a good thing.

OK, so what I'm doing is preloading the thinking. My first salvo is on the facebook page. I'm going to feed these questions, in different forms, in any avenue to EM that is available to me. I'll be adding other suggested items from this thread as well. Getting prompted from multiple directions at least puts it on their minds. And you can help, so feel free to ask these through any channel available to you. I'll be using EM email routes as well.

I keep in mind that keeping it simple is best, asking about details is sometimes better than a request for a summation. And then also, you catch more flies with honey than you do vinegar. Here was my first post..

I understand the next summit is planned Aug. 13-14. After that we'll... hear about the 'funding picture', and something firming up the production schedule. Myself and my peers would also like to hear about Photos and Status of the P5(E1), on schedule? Same info for the E2 to 25. Status of engine testing and performance results. How many engines are in this pilot production for this phase? Will that be in the post summit disclosure?

I have got to start correcting my Elio ID's; Quote from EM blogs =>
Elio Motors just announced in an email that P6-P30 will now be called E1-E25.
So the P5 is 'P5' and the P6 is actually the E1.

Well asked.
A simple question could be "Can you share a picture or two of the engines in production?"

One question in two parts..........
What is the current anticipated production start date and is there funding solidly in place to support that date?
.......
That covers what we want to know.
I'd rephrase it to be less confrontational. What is the current anticipated production start date, and what is the funding plan to get you there?
