The Elio has never had a right side door, only left. What article has mentioned a right side door?
Gear shift (And, I'd assume, hand brake) are on the right side. Kind of difficult to climb over them on your way out if there was a right side door.

"said he can't guarantee the outcome." Can you guarantee the outcome of any given action?
"Until it's done, it's not done." self evident. If someone thinks it's done before it is done they are not too bright.
"It may or may not happen," self evident. There are no guarantees in life.
You might add, "There is no such thing as free lunch!"
spurious: not being what it purports to be; false or fake.
If they really wanted a right side door option, both shift and park brake are cable controlled and could be door mounted.Gear shift (And, I'd assume, hand brake) are on the right side. Kind of difficult to climb over them on your way out if there was a right side door.
The door is still on the left. Maybe they will put in a floor/foot emergency brake. This way there will be a full arm rest on the right like the driver's door.If they really wanted a right side door option, both shift and park brake are cable controlled and could be door mounted.
I don't see a need, but it is doable.
Fanciful thinking - what about a suicide passenger door on the right, driver door still on the left?
I wrote to them back in April 2015 and asked about the armrests, because of my disability I have to be able to "brace" myself in turns and I was told:The door is still on the left. It is doubtful that the exhaust port of the Elio even gets all that hot. Can you even remember the last time when you spilled fuel? I can’t, because modern pumps at the gas station always shut off before fuel could spill.

Hey Grumpy, I think we should wipe the Master Herald off of sites we look to for Elio news. Every article they've published has been a rehash of other articles, usually with added factual errors. This time they got the availability of manual and automatic transmissions wrong. I'm convinced they are just a Middle-Eastern clickbait site.<--linkhttp://masterherald.com/elio-motors-looking-to-go-into-production-with-p5-in-2016/19047/
This part was interesting:
You're just not driving hard enough. I've spewed gas out of my RX-7 and seen many cars spewing gas out at the race track. I have a great professional picture of gas flying out of my gas door that I can't seem to find right now.Fuel spilling out around corners? I've never seen fuel spill out of any car in my 30 years of driving...
https://duckduckgo.com/?t=palemoon&q=porsche+918+burnsmy first reaction to seeing the exhaust port below the fuel fill was one of concern .... given input from others on this I no longer have the same degree of concern ....
Don't know how many of you saw the movie, but looking at the overall sleek design, I have this idea that the manual cover should be be titled "How to Train your Dragon".
