Then the Amish use those buggies. Both relate to the people that pay zero road tax and clog up our roads. As for the Mennonites, I fixed one of those bike trailers they have because one broke down right down from my house. Seems that they (the Mennonites) didn't mind me fixing it with my welder and getting it back on the road. Probably because I bought a dog from them about 15 years ago and get fresh eggs on a weekly basis from them. They love taking cash for something that the tax man can't go after too. Maybe I need to take that up that other level of tax evasion they enjoy.Yes, but the AMISH in wide radius of me are allowed to use any electric or gas powered tool or technology that exists as long as they don't own it. Most of the Amish here either work in Carpentry / Home improvement or actually work in factories in addition to working tech-less on their own farms. But... then you have the young Amish with 1000-Watt stereo systems in their buggies coming down our roads drunk at 1:00 in the morning blasting rock and metal. . Oh well..

Cash for a service or product is not barter. Then even bartering is a problem because there was a number of websites that jumped on that bandwagon. Took about two years before you had to start filling out a form with them for the IRS. I know, i had a guy that I did some work for that was all over this company that was online and he wanted to barter for everything. It was tax free and he was ready to go. The excitement dropped once the scam was revealed and the IRS determined that people were way under reporting what they were getting or receiving. Lesson learned, the IRS has internet access.Last I looked, bartering is not illegal. Even if it involves cash. The real question then becomes "when is it considered income?". For the most part it is a non-issue. They typically don't make enough that the taxes would amount to much. No, we need the rich and the super rich to somehow distribute their money to the lower incomes. What was that saying about robbing banks? Oh yeh, because that's where the money is.
That's true and the reason I don't go anymore. It's now, I have some garbage to sell. Wanna buy it? I think the last swap meet i went to and actually swapped something was back in the 80's where I got an Alpine head unit because I had a set of speakers I didn't need anymore.I wish the the original swap meet concept would come back. When was the last time you went to one and tried to "swap" something?
They will sell, but won't swap. OTIK
You got me there. I don't know what OTIK is...I wish the the original swap meet concept would come back. When was the last time you went to one and tried to "swap" something?
