AFAIK, It hasn't been officially disclosed as to which analog gauges will be in the Production Elio. They have analog tach/speedo gauges in the E1-C model in Joeker88's video. But it's unclear if these are the actual gauges to come with the production model.

I personally think it sucks that they eliminated the Elgin dash. Now it will be like every other car... and yet the Elio is not like "every other car". I'm sure cost is the reason for the change. The Chevy Vega had instruments like current cars. So why not make the Elio like every other car...

I bet it wasn't "cheap" and this is why they removed the Elgin dash. Standard instruments are butt ugly. So lets settle for ordinary & average because we are use to it... Go figure...

The Elgin is easy to read.

My Dad was a watchmaker and I can remember about 50 years ago him saying what a bad design the direct read Elgin was. He refused to sell them in his store.

And as to a Rolex style instrument cluster, at least we could read it without having to stare at it for a while to figure out what it says. (p.s. I like my Omega, it keeps better time than my wife's Rolex.).

This is what I don't understand. The numbers are the same size. With the Elgin you have to look in one location to read the time (or in this cases, the tachometer or speedometer). So is it easier to "look" for the pointy arm thingy as it moves in an arch, to find the number it's pointing at. This is rather than looking in one location? Or does the pointer arm/hand make the number look bigger? Or is it the staring part which is critical in reading a number of the same size, which isn't moving?

All Elio has done is tweaked an old dead archaic instrument panel style and reanimated it. Sort of like a zombie...
