Hello Elio’ers, this week’s tour update is coming from the California Capital Airshow in Sacramento! This was our second air show and it won’t be our last. It’s a great place to showcase the Elio since a lot of the attendees love cars, and even more so, a car that places a high emphasis on aerodynamics.
No, the Elio can’t fly… yet, BUT it does have a lot in common with a plane. Our tandem seating had some of the air show go’ers expecting to see it on the runway. It would be cool to see the Elio open from the top, with all glass. This is just a suggestion to all of you futureliowners that plan on making some modifications
. Our tandem arrangement isn’t only for looks – it pushes half the air and therefore doubles the gas mileage. This is key in helping us achieve 84 mpg.
On to the event itself. This was the ninth annual California Capital Airshow. It featured both military and civilian performances, crazy aerobatics, parachute demonstrations and even had a rare F-22 Raptor on display. Check out both the P3 and P4 by the F-22 Raptor.

This airshow has become one of the largest shows in the nation, drawing approximately 300,000 people and it definitely showed with the traffic around the Elio. There were two announcements each day about us and our booth location. It was hard to even grab a photo of the Elio with all of the fans wanting a closer look. As we mentioned in a previous blog post, our word has spread dramatically. Most people that see the Elio have heard about us already!
Bill of "Wild Bill Tattoo" is the owner of a long list of museum quality vehicles, one of which was a 1959 Messerschmitt. He became a futureliowner because he loves innovative, unique vehicles. In the spirit of 3-wheels, he brought out the Messerschmitt to meet his future ride.
