One major design update which I have noticed from looking at these two images is that the new testing image once again confirms that the roof-line is changing. If you look at the roof line between the B and C pillars you can definitely see where it has been flattened out in the new simulation as compared to the older simulation and as a result the C pillar is noticeably taller in the newer simulation image.

good eye .... I really like the last sentence the Tech Talk v58, "Once the spaceframe and restraint systems have been optimized through simulations, physical crash tests will be performed as a further validation." .... to me it is a good sign that EM is still talking about "physical crash test" .... to build prototype(s) to use in crash test cost money, significant money .... that says to me that they must, anticipate resolving their funding issues

I see more. Look at the beefed up structural frame members and the additional L-frame at the front. A new massive door bar, moved vertically to the top of the door. Larger gap from rear tire to rear frame. All of these would give strength in a collision, and additional weight. What else did I miss?

Looking at those clips ... i crashed two Geo Metros... a 1990 one took a sideswipe to the rear roof pillar from a tractor trailer. a second one, the 2000 took a head on in the fender panel shot from a deer going at least 50 mph across an open field into my fender. Small cars are pretty damn tough.

You've got some mighty fast deer up there in PA! I think ours only get up to around 30 mph.

Seriously, we're lousy with deer out here too. And during rut, there's no telling what those crazy SOBs are gonna do. Hope I never find out how an Elio handles a deer strike.

Saw the simulation on the blog Cool but subjective. They can make it come out anyway they want.
Big Question. Air bags or should I say air bag. Did I not read the ELIO was to have 3 air bags .
I only see one in the simulation going off.

Yes, but if they included it on the animation you couldn't see the "driver", or how he moved inside!
The side air bags are "curtains".

The other two are side curtain airbags,IIRC. I don't believe they trigger in a frontal collision, only with a side impact. Not knowledgeable on these; feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.
