Yup; EM asked a long time ago not to do letter campaigns to the DOE or congress in general; however if you want to write your local representatives or state level congress that's fine. Just do it on your own, and don't try to "force" anything on to them. There are a number of people on the forum that have established a good communications link with State senators.
Also a handwritten letter to them does carry more weight than a phone call; an email is somewhere in between. Think about how people communicate with you; which ones stand out more, especially if you get high volumes of calls, emails and snail mail?

Sailor Dog Hello and :welcome: to the Elio Owners forum.
As others here have stated we do have a large group of people that come for all walks of life, age groups (lot of old bikers too) that talk about everything and anything Elio related and everything else under the sun.
The only two areas out of bounds are Politics and Religion.
And RUCRAYZE is correct, if you start a thread and there is the same topic going on else ware on the board, we will merge them.
So if you can take the time to look around a bit before you start a new one, we really appreciate it.
PPhhheewwwwww dam I like to ramble on at times; so now we return you to the live thread......

Thanks for the gentle reminder about politics and religion, my intention was to be 'bipartisan', which I agree in retrospect is by it's nature political. Posts answered all our questions in that regard. And I respect the rules of this site. Most of all, I would wish to respect the wishes of EM and Paul Elio in regards to the politics of this. Communicate with state representatives is best. The level of awareness for Elio is below a few percent in my own survey of clients for my small mobile pet business. Use a 2003 Toyota Echo with 198,000 plus miles for biz, hope it lasts

Elio Motors has the money to build the 25 E-series vehicles.

Where are they getting the money to build the 100 preproduction vehicles? They won't get paid for the vehicles until EM delivers them. I don't think there will be enough money left over from the 25 E-series. Is Stu Lichter or someone else loaning the money? If they have a definite buyer who has signed a contract, it is easier for EM to get a loan (from someone) to build these 100.

I've been wondering the same thing.
They've got eight months to find the buyer(s) and negotiate a contract(s).
There've been some early adopters expressing interest in total pre-payment here.
Who's to say that the fleet buyer(s) won't agree to pre-payment?

That reminds me.
"Now you see me 2" is going to be in theaters June 10th.

These are called bridge loans. I suspect the stock release has financed the 100. All they needed was 500k plus the basic tooling that resulted from the 25 unit build.

The announcement that we WILL build 100 pre-production Elio's was part of EM's forward thinking plan.......with EM's stated funding requisite clause which means no funding, no progress. I"m more interested in the engineering freeze so parts can be manufactured for the E Build's progress and final testing............ since it is the next milestone requirement. I was hoping for some news/photos in Friday's Blog.

EM is suppose to deliver 100 preproduction vehicles to fleet customers in December.

What would be the response and attitude of the fleet customers if EM delayed delivery of these vehicles, as it has delayed delivery to the reservationist?
