IMUO (uninformed opinion) I don't think Paul will roll anything off the line that isn't production ready.

True statement...........that requires the 100 pre-production pilot fleet of Elio's needed to insure the final production model Elio is certified production ready.

No. There's no caving on what DoE is required to do for due diligence, as published in the Federal Register. However EM's ability to say they are producing vehicles, for sale, that they have some revenue from sales... is priceless when talking with VC folks, and is icing on the cake for DoE.

They announced December in the article I read. I think they want to keep their word for the forth quarter production date, even if the DOE STILL hasn't let the ATVM loan happen. They're aiming to increase the pressure they can not actually bring to bear directly. The US has to see the cars, and understand what the holdup is. Not Elio, but the DOE.

ATVM loan. It happens when they get the ATVM loan. For some reason, the DOE is just... waiting. And waiting. And waiting. WTF??

Waiting?..............waiting on EM to verify the Elio's performance data and show proof of EM's ability to repay the loan. The DOE is being a responsible public lender and some are complaining about it as taxpayers? The DoE apparently screwed up approving other startup vehicle loans.......took harsh criticism..........and apparently learned from those failures. The DoE's waiting on EM, rather than simply denying the loan, seems very responsible too me.......and mildly optimistic that it could be approved.

EM finally looks to be stating 'real' on track required milestones with the E Builds, the Rousch partnership, and announcement of the 100 pre-production Elio's.

That is very interesting. It suggests Elio Motors/Comau will need to start setting up the plant in July, if Comau's three month lead timeline is accurate.

That is what I am saying, but I think it might be even sooner. Like next month. We'll see.

There are fleet reservations.... yes Elio's plan is to build 100 vehicles for those reservations and determine how to tune them for mass production.

Well... if you cloned the P5 about 25 times I'd agree. Otherwise it's not possible to run the number of destructive tests EM wants on one vehicle.

Only 100. And these were always going to be built first, but now they are going to be sold to one or two fleet customers. Elio will collect data from these units and get paid for the units. Win win.
