If you haven’t test driven the FUV, you have no idea how much fun it is. It was the most fun I’ve had driving any vehicle that I’ve driven to date. Our 2 day stay in Eugene was daytime and night life FUN......not boring. Is my life boring because I have time to spend debating Arcimoto thread naysayers on the Elio Owners Forum? Hilarious! I’m also a fan of the Elio, SOLO, and Tesla Performance Model Y and anxiously waiting for test drives. The Elio test drive experience might take some time, providing a visionary investor group takes over the Elio name & concept and builds an engineering vehicle I.C.E. or Electric. I chalk my time here up as a hobby interest and like most of the forum members.

I could take a short test drive in an FUV and have a blast doing it, but at the same time realize the vehicle doesn't meet my part time or full time commuting needs.
I like both the FUV and Vanderhall, but would not buy either as a primary means of transport because of the open design of both. If I was going to buy either as a secondary form of transport or play toy, I'd definitely go with the Vanderhall. Probably Vanderhall even over the Slingshot.
Samalross & Ace, I’m fully aware that the FUV or any three wheelers on the market aren’t for everybody based on their needs, wants, and price point. Neither of you are critical of the FUV because it doesn’t meet your needs and may appreciate the fact that they crossed the retail production finish line. Those that are critical and making assumptions about the FUV, the FUV’s market demographic, and Arcimoto’s success or failure, for whatever their reason, would have a better understanding of why so many people like it, after a test drive experience, or more likely wouldn’t matter for that mentality. There are many vehicles on the market that I like and appreciate, but only a few that meet my personal needs, price point, and would consider buying.
I like the Vanderhall and the SOLO but for my needs they are to low and ingress/egress/driver comfort issues prevent me from buying one.
Samalross, I’m with YOU on the i-Road preference as an urban commuter! I’ll buy one in a heartbeat if/when Toyota releases it for retail production. I’ll be having some FUV time while waiting for the i-Road or similar narrow tilting three wheeler concept.

Rick, my sense of humor is just fine. It doesn't include profanity and dirty jokes. Most fun with your pants on, kiss my arcimoto smile syndrome, bfl, etc just are crude and tasteless, not funny. I recognize that, in some ways, our society's standards have devolved, but that is a reflection on society, not my sense of humor.
And yes, part of the reason we come to post on this and other forums/social media is boredom. Part of it is that we find camaraderie with the other posters we have interacted with over time. I enjoy your comments and enthusiastic optimism. I respect your judgement to limit your deposits to "refundable" over the years. With startups, "refundable" often turns into "never-refunded", but still, it shows a sense of prudence.
None of us need to justify our decisions to each other on a forum. Your reasons/excuses for not taking delivery make sense to you and that is sufficient. It's irrelevant what I think, but it is this: Your words say "Arcimoto is the greatest thing since sliced bread." Your actions say "Arcimoto doesn't have their ducks in a row. I'm going to hold off and see if they get their act together."
Being a gearhead my whole life, I can't quite imagine the Arcimoto being the most fun vehicle that anyone had ever driven. That being the case for you, I'll stop feeling sad about you having missed out on driving/ride fun your whole life, and will be even more hopeful that you'll be able to take delivery. They're saying that next year will be reaching full production, so hopefully by this time next year you'll get your new trike.

Samuel, My FUV Evergreen #19 payment is non-refundable and I can call to arrange for delivery when I’m good and ready. Nothing to do with waiting on Arcimoto and/or full production.

Fair question. FWIW, I've been on various forums under various handles with Rick for 5-7 years, so I know a bit more about his tastes and history than you might think.
List of vehicles (not all inclusive) I've owned that I believe are more fun than an Arcimoto FUV: Corvette, WRX, Civic Si, Contour SVT, 124cc Shifter Kart, CB400F, CB750K, Nighthawk S, CBX, GL1100, ZX6, RF900R, SV1000, SV650, Concours 14. Long list of test drives/rides, plus driving and riding friends' vehicles. My current primary daily driver is the ZX6.
