I don't think anyone has asked this yet. As I looked over some of the proposed options on the EM website, I was wondering if any of the exterior modification panels have a positive function or just look cool.

I could see a front air dam (not on their list) and a belly pan with rubber deflector for the rear wheel doing some good 'aerodynamically'...possibly a vented rear wheel cover if done correctly to straighten out the airflow. The rest of it is just "bling". I noticed the tips for the exhaust. But where the heck is it exiting? Doesn't really show in any of the views (I know, I know, it exits out the right side near the gas cap...different thread all together). Not a big fan of their running boards either. As for the 'eletronic gadgetry', just give mine cruise control and a remote starter so I can sit in my robe drinking coffee while the snow/ice melts off....HATE Winter!

My guess would be that the current modification ideas shown on the web site have been designed for looks and not tested for aerodynamic effect as such they would likely hurt fuel economy. However there are quite a number of modifications, many have been mentioned in previous posts, which when appropriately designed could be implemented to improve aerodynamics and/or vehicle handling.

A couple of white reflectors on the front of the fenders and the regular head lights should look about the same as any small car coming toward you. This isn't visually a small vehicle it is as wide as a Corvette and as tall as a Honda Accord. I really don't see a problem with being visible in this vehicle.

Great question. And I might add 'look cool' is in the eye of the beholder. Some of that stuff just looks like crap!
Crap, like cool, is in the eye of the beholder, but most of this stuff takes a clean-swept design and clutters it with louvers, etc, that don't serve any useful purpose and cause drag. The only exception I see is the front air dam / spoiler, whatever it's called, which does seem to improve the looks of the radiator opening.

Not being a teenager or low-rider fan, I can live without non-functional add-ons. Now functional ones, ah, there they'll get me.
