I was smitten the first time I saw the Elio on the web (haven't yet in person) and jumped "All In" and have my Certificate #5486! Elio has been confident that all states will recognize this little wonder as a motorcycle for registration purposes, but a friend brought this to my attention from our state DMV:
"Three-Wheeled Vehicles: that have or are designed to have a driver’s seat that is completely enclosed and a motor which is not in the enclosed area are not motorcycles under Connecticut law, and may not be registered as motorcycles." [http://www.ct.gov/dmv/cwp/view.asp?a=810&q=430480]
Will they recognize it as a car? Will we be able to enjoy those anticipated inspiring trips along CT's highways and byways? Guess we just have to wait and see
