Some.
We mounted a reversible ratchet on the shaft so we could control it's descent, but the motor jammed the ratchet so much that we couldn't switch the direction.
The game has a removable rope, so if all else fails, we'll pull the rope off the bracket and unwind it in the pits after the match. Climbing is the last thing that happens during the game.

We'll be taking the robot off the field with the rope attached as well. If nothing else, it's a guarantee we won't leave the rope behind.
