It is going to keep dropping until some good news. It is still a good short sell opportunity. It doesn't seem that there is as much enthusiasm about it.

It isn't what you think the value is worth, it's what everyone else thinks it's worth. (You could even be correct with your assumed value, but it could never hit that price.)

It's quite simple. The people that do these stocks are not fans of Elio, they are just people that look at the news that comes out of the company and invest from that. If you notice when Paul was on CNBC, he gave out news of 2018 production. The stock tanked after the new year because most people were on the Christmas/New Year break. Then the next time we see Paul, we find out that he won't be hiring until the first half of 2018 and that all depends on the funding. Again, it doesn't look good for even 2018 and this time it's slowly going down.

I see this all of the time in manufacturing. Delays in a product launch equals a hit on the stock. Since this is publicly traded, you have to take the good with the bad. Elio needs to come out with news that is not a general statement. As for the news coming out of Elio, after the LA auto show, it has been yet another production delay. With the NAIAS, that produced barely any news and I don't remember seeing anything of Paul even being there. Something as simple as a repaint and new updates on the black car would have been better than just showing up with the same thing you had at LA.

The bad news doesn't help but it's pretty much just people speculating and it's not from industry experts. So, it doesn't help Elio but it's not hurting them as much as it comes to production delays and very little news about anything else. With all of the other things going on with the new administration, Elio might not be a priority for the next few months. Hopefully I'm wrong but he's a bit obsessed with the big 3 at the moment as they can produce big job numbers as compared to Elio.

We need to hear official Elio announcement like this (note, these are not official Elio announcements):

1. We have conducted an EPA test cycle and found that we get 49 city and 84 highway.
2. Crash testing has proven we are on our way to a 5 star rating.
3. Shreveport Factory updates.
4. 1st phase of 200K mile testing concluded at IAV.
5. Elio showroom locations picked and construction to commence this month.

These announcements show progress and that you are getting closer toward your goal. Even if you are going to start production in 2018, what matters today is a progress report with some meat in it. Having a pic at the NAIAS with people around the Elio display is not going to cut it. For anyone looking from the outside and not having exclusive knowledge of Elio, it looks like they are just sitting around, waiting and doing nothing.

Even when Elio gets to the point of production, the stock market will not be kind. They will want to know what the deliveries are. If you start making the product but 80% are stuck in rework, that's not good. Just look at VW. They started the production of the Atlas on December 16, 2016 in Chattanooga. As of today, you can't buy one. They are having all sorts of problems and can't release it to the general public. Thus (with all of the other problems that VW has) they were hoping for a bright spot and it is not working out. In the end, an established company that has been in production for a month and no deliveries. You can burn through a ton of cash by starting production and not getting cash flow due to deliveries.

In the end, everyone has to celebrate the accomplishments and understand the disappointments. It's a rocky road ahead.
