Opening Rear Side Windows

The ELIO will have AC so lets assume that there will be vents for the rear (They are working on that) for AC, inside air or outside air.

I'm thinking as small as the interior is, no rear vents will be needed.

My first car --very small-- had pop out windows, and popping them out increased airflow when travelling. sometimes it's nice to roll the windows down.

Look at how the old air cooled Volkswagen windows were mounted with a rubber gasket. My 67 Beetle has fixed windows but have a set of pop open windows to be installed after Schultz gets a new paint job.

The main thing is to vent the cabin when the front windows are open. A mechanical vent in the back hatch operated by a small servo shouldn't be to difficult. . .just my thoughts.

No you don't. That style is noisy, they are prone to leak, and (I feel) they're not the most attractive.

How wide is the space in the roof on the Elio? Those vents seem like they'd take up quite a bit of roof there.

Going from the trunk opening measurements, it's about 14" to 16" across


37cm X 29cm = 14.5" x 11.45" So it should fit, kind of tight, but looks like it would be wall to wall.

Crack open the damn trunk, flow thru ventilation problem solved.
