I have read the Elio site also, can you please provide a link to that site that states these Showrooms will offer "Test Drives"? As stated, I believe, assume, Guess they will be like the Tesla stores that offer the same Viewing opportunity but not a test drive. At least not the Tesla stores in my area. I would Love to take one of those out to beat on.

Elio is no Tesla! Most wanting to test drive a Tesla couldn't afford one(me include) so why offer test drives? The Tesla demographic knows what it wants. The Elio store concept shows Elio Test Models (I believe, assume, guess too) setting in front of the Elio Store. The demographic that Elio is catering to will need to test drive to see if this new format of a vehicle fits......me included. Would I buy the more 'conventional' new Tesla Model X due out this year........yes I would!

Only in my head am I so lucky! Lots of $1000 all in fans before I stop by a proposed real Elio Store to test drive a real Elio and place my official order.

Can you imagine inside the friendly "Hello Elio" showroom that an Elio Company trained employee would refuse the request for a test drive on their totally new platform vehicle? I predict Elio won't have enough space in their future Stores to display all of their future Excellence in Customer Service People's Choice Awards.

Elio is definitely no Tesla I was just pointing out an observation with No Fact. The Tesla Store (real stores) look remarkably similar to what the Elio site is suggesting if you have ever visited a Tesla store. What I read from the Elio site is that this is a place to View an Elio and a place for proud owners to check out and possibly purchase unknown at this time accessories and options. In there photo I see (assume, guess, speculate) are owners parked out front looking to show off their ride and pick out some accessories as noted on the website. Again, just trying to manage my personal expectations based on the only documented facts presented by Elio in writing.

The store concept looks pretty similar to me. Having visited a few Tesla stores at the mall it makes sense to me.

I know that Elio's direct to customer sales and Elio stores model is the similar or the same as Tesla which should be a plus in controlling MSRP cost or even Profits. Certainly no competition as in the typical auto dealerships marketing strategy. Good discussion and I agree with what you're saying.

Lots of speculation until it becomes a reality, but I can't imagine that there will be no test drives in friendly Elioville if they want to sell vehicles (Technically a three wheeler motorcycle) to some old school geezer like me that needs to see how this revolutionary new platform sits and handles on the road..........can you? I wonder how many of the 15,000 reservation holders will actually buy without a test drive........besides the $1000 non-refundable all in reservationists? $6800, although very affordable, is still a chunk of change to the average guy that needs to be sure of the ride.

It is really early for anyone to speculate or even guess exactly what Elio plans to do regarding localized sales but my Guess is they will follow a Very similar program as did Tesla. Yes they do have a few stores but it is a (1) model display with option details and informative reps on site. Nothing more. To this day most all Tesla models are purchased via Website in a very simple format and they have done so very successfully. Go to the site and try for yourself. Seems to work pretty well for a car company selling a Very high end product (100k+) to a very high end market and I have not seen them mention any concerns with this process with the exception of keeping up with orders as they are flying off the shelf! Not an exact comparison but I don't recall ever being given the option to test drive a motorcycle at the local dealer and these are in the 8-30k range. It's my guess, assumption, no proof, opinion Elio will be keeping it Very simple for a long time.

I disagree. It is the perfect time for people to speculate AND guess. It seems that is what we are all doing here anyway.

Not me, five new cars and never drove anyone of them prior to taking the keys. When I car shop, I all ready know what I want when I go and all that handling and performance crap is at the very bottom of my list.

As for the Elio, all I really want is the superstructure don't care how it handles, that can be fixed once I get it. JMO
