I suspect that right now Takata is probably putting out some of the best bags ever made .... they are under a huge international microscope and to do anything less would put them out of business
Right...and 'the check is in the mail' and 'I'll respect you in the morning'....Bottom line = $$/Yen. Takata couldn't care less what you or anyone else 'thinks' about their company - or their product; as long as stupid auto companies buy their crap airbags they will continue to put (at best) questionable products out for consumption.

I would LOVE the option of NO AIRBAGS. It's classified as a motorcycle - they aren't legally required. Elio could save $ by NOT putting them in - or charging as an option.

I doubt that not having them installed at the factory would be a non starter .... one of Paul's points of emphasis centers on safety and they play a big part ....

I being no longer young and invincible, think no air bags, is a bad idea. I will admit though, Takata is not my idea of a "Safety First" Company, even though I have not received an airbag recall on my 3 vehicles..........YET!;)

You can, if you are careful, disable airbags but I don't see why anyone would EVER want to do that. That'd be like removing defibrillators from hospitals because one kid somewhere hurt himself with one.

No, I'd never remove or disable them. Just wish there was an option on the maker (anything but Takata).
