The sway was on shark tank this evening. He did not get a deal. Cool vehicle.

He did get a deal with Cuban.

A 40 mile range scooter like thing is going to sell for more than $8,000?! I can’t imagine, that at this price there will be many takers. Especially when you consider that after a few years, you would likely have to look into replacing the battery. Business models like that make clear why the Elio gets so much attention, because it is actually viable.

I bought my like-new '95 Virago stock with chrome covers and chrome stand-offs for $1500 a couple of years ago.
Included were two new half helmets, small pleather saddlebags and a "sport" style windshield, all of which I sold.
It had 2300 on the clock, has a 249cc v-twin engine, I tricked it out for less than $300 and I averaged 80+mpg.
I contantly got compliments. Quite a few people actually thought it was a HD 883 at first glance.
Almost everyone that wasn't familiar with the model thought it was a bigger bike.
It has tons of low-end torque and top end is just over 90mph.
Everything was peachy till a lady rear-ended me at a light.

She was on three percodan, on the phone, and had a shitzu jumping around in the minivan.
Cop let her drive away.

I'm rebuilding the bike.
The point is that there are great ways to motor for for fun and for cheap.
The 150cc Genuine Stella 4--speed got 55mph and 140mpg and sold new for $3699.
They've since gone to a 125cc 65mph 100mpg automatic Stella that sells for $3499, but still...

A city/urban personal mobility vehicle, a threewheeler with the tilt of a tradional cycle, fast, easy to operate, economical to run, low maintenance, swapable battery pack, FUNctional, and clear business model that Mark Cuban thinks it's viable. The Sway is a very cool concept as a tilter and much cheaper than a Can Am Spyder. It seems like rider becomes part of the machine when manuevering the Sway and looks like a blast to ride.

Sway Motorsports' has a business model that is viable because the Sway has funding, uses off the shelf parts suppliers, and plans to use an established electric motorcycle manufacturer to build it.

It will be interesting to see how it would look with some sort of shell on it.

Perhaps Sway could add a 3d printed option flip top canopy similar to the Bug EV's.

I may have found the ultimate fun tilting threewheeler EV by Sway Motorsports. They are scheduled to be on Shark Tank this week. If only it was enclosed, but looks like fun irregardless.

Please help stamp out the use of the fake word "irregardless". "Regardless" is the word you are looking for. Makes me laugh every time I hear it. Why not dis-un-ir-regardless?

I like that electric bike a lot, I just think that the price is way to high to be sold widely.

Where I live I couldn’t even think of riding one, because of the difficulty charging since there are no garages to be found and there is no access to outlets on the streets anywhere. I see many people with scooters though, they cost less than half (or much less), have a greater range, can be used where the electrical grid doesn’t take you, don’t require insanely priced battery replacements after a few years and so on. So no, unless electrical motorcycles are made at an affordable price-point and the charging infrastructure improves, these kind of motorcycles won’t sell in bigger numbers. At that price it’s a novelty, not a tool.

Govecs, the Polish manufacturer of the e-bike, seems more viable. European companies by the scooters for city transport and municipalities put up a lot of charging stations in recent years. All that is missing in U.S. cities for the most part.

I can buy a lot of little scooters for gettin wet and cold riding around town for the kind of money they're talkin' about for that thing. Even electric ones. Looks like a $1200 scooter with $8800 in superfluous 'cool' tilting wheels. What exactly is the advantage of this over a traditional scooter design? Other than the obvious fact that it can't fall over? (Not an $8000 problem in my book).

I just found a full size 3000W electric scooter within an hours drive.
It has all the features I'd want. 43mph top speed. 5 silicon gel batteries.
3 out of 5 are a year old. New charger. Excellent condition.
306lb. 40mi range @ 20mph. 8-10hrs full charge time.
It's a 2008. It'll Ride two up. Road legal.
I live 5.5 miles from where I work.
How much...?

$600 obo.

I might grab some cash and take a ride in the van tomorrow.
