The before mentioned Cooper LRR tire was a 175 X 65 X 14 size and was called a "Cooper GFE".......IIRR.

The Elio will come "with the two front tires being 135/80 R15 and the single rear tire measuring 175/65 R15. All of the tires, will utilize existing Continental Tire tread patterns and are expected to have comparable tread life and replacement costs to conventional tires." :D

this will be the first street vehicle I've ever owned on which all tires are the same size .... do have a tractor with the front tires much smaller than the rear but that's pretty much the norm for tractors

Do you happen to know if rims and lug pattern are the same front to back?

It would make sense for the lug pattern to be the same, but the tire widths would require a wider rim in the rear.

I tend to agree with you on the lug pattern but you can put a wider tire on just about any rim.
Both the wheel and tire manufacturers would disagree with you on that. There is a range of compatibility. For instance, a rim width of 5"-6" is recommended for a 175/65-15. The 135/80-15's only recommended rim width is 4". Going too narrow or too wide on rim width can lead to serious problems.
